Aldous Huxley interview w/ Mike Wallace. Nothing is new under the sun.

Huxley is a person I enjoy reading a lot. Today I looked up some vids on him and found this interview pretty good.

It's amazing how haunting some of the things he talks about are, or how we see them coming to fruition now.

Dude's awesome. If you haven't read something by him, I'd recommend it.

Great post man. Very clear that indeed, nothing new under the sun. If you made the audio sound better, it could have been recorded yesterday.

Yet, here we are still...not globally enslaved yet. I can't help but feel that the world as a whole has been and is actually conspiring for peace and freedom more than it is for war and enslavement.

Getting better all the time.

I feel we are all somewhat slaves to something to greater and lesser degrees, in as much as we have to accept rules or consequences in life. But that doesn't have to be viewed as slavery, in the most traditional picture.

I think at the core of all life is a concern to be happy and have safety, so I agree, and add, we inherently are predisposed to that conspiracy.

I believe we see the world how we see ourselves, best/worst selves. I have seen extreme joy in the dire places, and that our will to accept and blend what happens in our life profoundly effects the 'happening to me' vs. 'experiencing things that happen'.

So with that in mind, no pun, we can face things as they are, while working to improve the way we see 'are' and making 'are' more real in our daily lives. You can smile deeply in the face of adversity and still see goodness becoming. For if you are changed by it, them at least one good thing has been born of it. And that is "getting better all the time"
