Washington State Drug Testing Law

so my work does not drug test.

this past weekend was hempfest. my boss knew i was i going.
yesterday, monday, my boss made them comment "So, did your stoned keep you busy this weekend?" we got into a discussion about my weekend and he asked how it was.

after the convo my shift supervisor made the comment "just wait till we start drug testing."

this got me thinking; does the Company have to give notice to me the employee if they put drug testing into affect?

just curious.

Thanks!!! ^_^

It sounds like he was joking.

If he knew you were going and they really were gonna start drug testing he would of said something like 'hey! do not engage in consuming illegal drugs on your days off, its against our policy and we will test you!!!!' but he didn't say nothing of it when you first mentioned it to him and I think he was just ribbing you.

But to answer your question no, I'm 99% sure that a company does not need to give you notice to let you know that you will be getting drug tested.

sounds like he was joking, but id seriously consider seperating your personal life from your professional life because if your boss ever needed/ wanted to fire you, he now has a pretty good reason.

sounds kinda paranoid, but i think its worth considering, at least.
