I have 13 plants of a hybread early pearl,a few are in later stages of budding, others just getting started, very healthy, and about 3 ft average, and bushy(in pots outside).in the last few days flowers have started to develope on the cruches in the middle section of the plant,(all of them)usually one flower for each crouch on each side,,a couple have apeared on the crouch of a couple buds near top.strain comes from a freind who has been devolping a strain for years,,and its always very potent.some of the flowers that are opening, have little yellowish pedals with white stimas.my freind is seeing the same thing, and sais he does not think they are pollen based and theres nothing to worry about,.im wondering if anyone else has any thoughts,,are they hermys,,or is it posible they are not..my freind has probly 30 ,and they all the same to..thoughts?

They do 'sound' like hermaphrodites. Sometimes though, the male flowers which develop on hermi's will not even open, but its not worth the risk of many seeds. If you have only afew plants, you can manually, with fine toothed tweezers, remove the male appendages as they appear...to prevent pollination. When you get hermi's like that, its a dud strain...better to try soemthing else. A photo will be best to see if it is def a hermi too.

yeah,it they must be herm's ,i clip the flowers i do see,to minimise the risk.hopefully they will not seed up to much..i have one that is 3.5 ft,bushy, lots of buds, but in the last week they do not seem to be getting alot bigger, starting to frost up,but slow putting the weight on.but i have it in a 3.5 gallon pot,so i quess thats the reason.do u think it would hurt for me to try and put it in the ground,or should i just leave it do its thing?.they are a hybread early pearl,,and usually grow 30-60 days, then flower for 30 ,tops.I love them because of there quik turn around, and mold resistance.but does seem that some how a hermy, got into the mix.so that sucks.I also have 4 in 3 g pots they only 2ft tall, and starting to bud(all pots have large gravel in the bottoms)one of them has leaves that are starting to turn brownish, just a bit,but on the viens underneath there seems to be a brown fuss, not alot but noticable,i cut the first two off as soon as i seen it,but now hafe the leaves on it are getting that way.i have taken it away from the rest.I do have a couple in the ground, and a couple in large pots,25 gallon, but none show any sings of turning any better than the large most mature one i have in the 3.5 gallon..they are all in the flowering stage.some just starting, and a couple that are in a couple weeks of it.my most mature and biggest having buds the size of thumbs all over it,but seems to be slowing down.i didnt start till late june and the sun has only been out for week an a half, lol.very wet damp spring, but climate here is poor anyway, thats why i stick to the most mold resisant strain i can.i am going to try and take a pic with my cam later of my biggest ,ill post it,if i fiqure out how to,lol.have a mini dig camera, but the software doesnt seem to want to work with xp,or id have some pics..

some body told me,that taking a female with male flowers(hermy)and using those flowers to polinate a female of a differnt specios, would yeild all female seeds, the person i was told this by,said it was in one of the growing quides,,but doesnt remeber witch one..have u ever heard of this..i would think u would just end up with hermys,,right?i couldnt get a good pic of the flowers on mine,,but i have cliped all ,but cam wont take good enof one anyway,.
