seed question

hey there...
I have a friend whoms father grows some very nice, unique. his bud has a very distinctive odor, smoke, flavor, looks... everything.

anyways, i have acquired some seeds of this bud, and they too are very unique. they all are very fragile, most of em break when squeezed. and very light green, whitish around the edges. small buggers too.

so i was wondering... are these seeds suitable to grow, as they all are typically crappy seeds? How does he grow with em every year? Are the seeds like this because he harvests differently?... idk

Healthy seeds are light to dark brown in color, they don't implode when you squeeze them. The sometimes have stripes on them aswell.

The seeds you described sound like they won't germinate and were hearvested too early.

Some of my best seeds have been the funky looking ones.
I sent a guy some that are going to surprise him, they are whitish and almost dead looking.
But they work like a dream.

I have had some black ones I had to use an emery board to sand the sides down so it could open.

I have 10, I forget which ones, they have an "s" like blaze on the side of each.

There are as many sizes and colours of seed as there are strains.

Colouration depends on maturity rate also probably.
