correct topping/what sex?

Heya Pplz,

Is this the correct spot to top, just cut it there? It's just above the 5th Node?

Also can anyone tell the sex of this plant yet? Or is it still just a little early?

Thanks

Looks like it is still growing leaves out of the nodes, so I would say too early to tell.
If you are going to top and that's that?
Look in the grow FAQ at the top of the GTGH forum for the term FIM.

You should end up with a lot of smaller grow shoots than by simply topping.

are you gonna grow em outdoors? if so, i would suggest you do it anytime soon, cause they have stretched a bit.

No they will never go outdoors, full natural indoor grow!

Sorry, English is my first language, but it may not show.
And OF COURSE I was ripped, this IS a weed forum.

Means there are things better than topping any day of the week.
You wanna top and stress your plant that's your deal
Hack away.
2 weeks for the plant to recover fully.

BUT, if you are still convinced to cut the top off your plant, go to the Growing The Good Herb FAQ, Look for FIM or FIMMING (the process of topping the plant so more than 2 new grow shoots happen).

If you are going to stress the plant, make it worthwhile.
I have seen people get up to 8 grow shoots from a good ol fashioned FIMing.

I stopped cutting on the advice of a lot of more experienced growers than me.
Now I let em go and bend em at the end if I have to, which tells me that on my second grow from clones
(as the second run is faster, fatter and more potent)
I may have to SCRoG ( Screen of Green) or SoG (Sea of Green) or LST (Low Stress Training) to keep the height down.

Hope this is somewhat clearer for ya.

If not, take the only concrete advice and visit the FAQ Jacques

ive had my 2 plants on a 12/12 for coming up on 3 weeks now, and there are still fresh sets of leaves popping up, i cannot determin sex yet really, its messed up, idk what to do. the seeds are bagseed from the local "commercial" dealer bud, and ive been told that they dont bud, or dont bud correctly by someone who has tried them before, but i figured this was bullshit and i would try growing em, but they indeed dont seem to be budding... whats my problem? do i just suck, or do they really not just bud? idk

help needed, and would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt that they won't bud.
The room must be totally dark for some strains during lights out.
Not even a glimmer in yer eye to disturb them.
Some can have a floro on.

Could be nutes, heat, light to far away, light too close.

For you? My guess would be light leakage and lights too far away.

Light leakage to account for the lack of flowering, and light to far away judging by internodal spacing.

my .02 cents USA = $2,435 CAD

ya, im not sure if light is the problem. i think its either heat ( it gets pretty cold at night), or nutes because all ive used is wood ash, other than a little bit of miracle gro in the veg stage, i think i might pick up miracle gro bloom. but still, what is accounting for the fact that they are still growing new leaves?
