One word:

Vaporizer.

Other advice? Move to California - specifically either the Bay Are or Los Angeles area - get yourself a Medical Marijuana Recommendation and start living the good life of a real MMJ patient.

Well, until you can afford a vape of your own, just stick to medicating in a vapor lounge. THere's a lot of great clubs that have them - Purelife is one that I go to every so often - I love their Vapor Lounge.

A volcano is a great investment in your own health - if you're in L.A. you could come over and hit mine.

haven't posted here in a while...
i started therapy and it's been rough.
after only 2 visits she recommended i go to rehab for 30 days.
it's a place that specializes in childhood trauma/abuse in conjunction with chemical dependency. it's been stuck in my head ever since she said it. only prob is it costs $45,000+. not gonna happen. crazy, really. who can pay for that? but, a lot of peeps do.
weird. i can't imagine being away from my kids for that long, but i also can't imagine going on the way i am. i'll get this figured out somehow.

your problem seems to be fanaticism.
Why can't you reduce your smoking.
Cut down to half of the amount you smoke every few months.
Smoking loads of good weed is a waste. You can still be high most of the time on 3 or 4 good joints a day.

I also used to smoke tons of weed / hash.
From an oz a week down to 1/2 oz a month.
And you know what, I feel a lot better now.

If you are seeking 'oblivion', Then take heroin, weed is for relaxation and fun, not for totally losing oneself.

well, i tried. didn't seem to work out the way i envisioned it.
i have some serious issues to deal with from now all the way back to childhood...it's a common story. i'm just not dealing with life properly. sounds like an easy fix, but i'm quite overwhelmed and depressed. i need help.

Hey Spicoli,

I'd just like to let you know that you aren't alone. I smoke about as much as you say, and i'm a longtime member here, and i'm only turning 23. Been smoking all day everyday for the past 8 years.

Your symptoms you're describing are exactly what weed does to you. Robs you of your true inspirations and focus, and makes you feel social anxiety and depression. Try reading this post to see how not alone we are.

Benefits of being off weed

Life gets better off weed, weed just makes you think you're happy but its all a false reality. I used to be the biggest advocate for weed, but now i'm getting older and seeing the big picture. When you quit, your smoking friends, like people here, will tell you to just lay off, or do this or that, but you dont have to quit smoking, just because they dont want to lose a buddy, and thats all heavy smokers tend to do.

Yeah, i hear ya. i just have some issues that go way deeper than weed, that have been there even when i wasn't smoking this heavy. i'm sure it's not helping to smoke this much when i'm feeling this way. it is what it is, and i'm dealing with it now, finally. just haven't slowed down the weed, yet. i'm almost out, so i'm gonna try not to buy any and see how i do.
thanks, for the link. i just don't blame the weed. i make a choice to smoke as much as i do everyday. abuse vs. use. if i slowed down considerably, i believe that i'd have less problems, yes. but it's cause/effect in my situation. bad lungs, husband hates it, costs a lot of money...the list goes on. if i slow down, or stop, all those things improve, immediately.
some things are becoming more clear to me now. i'm not gonna go to rehab. i'm gonna go ahead and just say no to that. i cannot imagine being away from my babies for that long. no way. or my husband, most of the time. haha.

i am doing great today. i smoked with my friend and i don't have an urge to go to the bank and make that phone call. i could've had my vicodin refilled, didn't do that, either. i feel stronger today than i did yesterday. (maybe cuz i smoked haha)

It's just that my husband hates the fact that I smoke, and will never see it any other way. If I had bought the vaporizer when I started having these lung problems, I think it'd be a little different. I just didn't, mainly because I thought he'd freak at me paying $400+ for something to smoke my $1000 a month habit. (eeeeeeeew that sounds kinda gross) It's just not worth it to me to keep smoking, (or vaping...wtvr) when it upsets him so much. I will still get the benefits of the herb in my baking and such, without the further damage to my lungs, and my man will be a much happier man.
ive read through the first couple of pages and that was more than enough for me. You seem like a sweet person, but jesus christ, how can an "adult" be so immature?

Firstly, you are in an marriage where your husband hates the source of your only happiness. You medicate yourself for whatever reasons and he does not approve of that. To combat this, you are trying to alter your ways in order to appease him. Marriage is a compromise and your weed habit might be adding stress to an already stressful situation. Was he not aware of your pot habit before you were married? He expects you to quit as soon as the papers were signed? That dudes almost as incoherent as you.

Instead of doing things just to appease him, why not take a step back and look at whats actually going on? Your health is deteriorating and all youre doing is adding fuel to the fire by smoking. If you have bronchitis or throat related ailments, what is the biggest agitator? Smoke. Yet you continue with your usage.

You need to realize why it is you are smoking so much (oz a week? wtf?). YOu cant ever fill the void that is missing with mj smoke and its definitely not helping your throat. You are on a destructive path, and whats worse is that you have children. If not for yourself, then you should at least maintain your health for them.

In this instance, mj doesnt seem to be the problem. Mj is just a tool to escape your problems. You need to find a way to clear your head and get back on the right track mentally and physically. If you cant justify 500 on a volcano, then spend 250 for a ssv or 150 for a vapir one. There are other options available.

i hope you can get things in order. Good luck

Does any one else understand that part or is it just me? It all makes sense till the last half of the run-on sentence...

It doesn't make sense to me either. But I used to be a school teacher, & enjoy grammar.
If there is a time in your life to stop smoking, you can..
I just called it "Temporarily Retired from Smoking". after
my career, & spouse was SO disabled from Narcotics, I
HAD to quit working to take care of him. Now he's OFF
Narcotics, ON Marijuana, & no longer uses a walker.
