Proper posting place.
I've quit smoking cigarettes, weed, and drinking alcohol.
I found the first week a little frusterating, I was bitchy and whatnot. I find now that I'm feeling alot better though. No smelly hair, or hands, nicotine finger is gone, I hated having one, it was gross. I smoked about a half a pack a day. I smoked 1 joint at night, and one in the morning sometimes, more when my husband was around, he loves his weed, sometimes none at all when he worked nights. I was drinking about 2 or 3 beers every couple of days. I liked the quick buzz so I would buy a 7% dark beer and chug it. For the quick buzz effect. I would do that 3 or 4 times, throughout the course of an entire day...over a 16 hour period. I found it was becoming too much of a regular thing, so I decided to stop before it got out of hand. I would drink alot of course if I was with friends at a get together, or if I had no kids. I became tired of the monotony of it all. The fact that I was doing it to fill in time. I think I've done quite well, I have no cravings for the weed or the beer, although on occasion I would kill for a smoke when the kids start to whine, so all in all I feel good. hmm. |

exactly...anyone can I believe, the only thing is, is I have totally alienated myself from my friends. I havent seen or spoken to anyone in almost 2 months maybe. All they do is party and shit, I'm tired of that lifestyle.
Now i just have to find new associates. |

Congrats on your life-change, Turm. It does alot for one's confidence, don't you think? It was very hard at first, for me, to give up beer. Now, I not only can resist it, but I WANT to not drink. People drinking around me just seem like tards.
Honestly, I can't see how people do it. ![]() The Rev

Thanks Rev, right back at you! I also have no desire ofor the stuff either.
This is why I havent even called any friends in almost 2 months. I want friends who want to do something constructive, wanderin around until you are so fudged up or seeing who can drink the most or just talking nonsense...such a waste of time. I also so see what retarded choices I was making as well, man was I a tard. I also can't stand talking or being around drunks when I'm not drinking. I find that everything they say seems so important to them, and they never listen to what you are saying, they just tend to hear their own point of view, tend to disagree even if you have the same exact points of view, or are thinking of what they're going to say next, without even listening to what you are saying...the ones I know anyways. My friends drink everywhere...they got kicked off their ball hockey team cause they were showing up drunk. they don't have kids I guess but still why not play and have fun, why be drunk or feel the need to drink? I think it's just habit here. Everyone here I know drinks, it's like a Canadian thing I guess, usually the chicks drink as much or more than the guys, it's just normal.

Congratulations Turm.
I'm pretty sure drinking's not just a Canadian thing. Although Canadians definitely drink a shitload.I got a Canadian friend who always says to me, "Us Canucks and you Irish are the same, we both spend two thirds of our income on booze."
