Dreams and reality

dreams and reality are far too fuckin hard to tell apart, mostly due to the fact that i do the same thing day in day out so it all just balls up into one big blur, no longer could i say what happened the day before today as im unsure which parts of my life are dreams and which are reality. Im able to lucis dream (controll my dreams at will) and due to this i can lead 2 completely different lives if i so chose, i did once but i started to like my dream world more than i liked the "real" world so i stopped and just did ordinary stuff in my dreams... unfortunatly now i have no idea what is real, im not even sure if what im writing is a dream or not, i have memorys hat arnt real, but i can remeber them like i can remeber realk memorys... its really really... odd... please tell me that other people have this problem... please! apart from the above im a completly normal druggay and i never really spin out and lose controll... its just fuckin annoying!!!

I don't understand, how can you not tell the worlds apart? Can you jump 30 stories high? If not, it's a strong indication that you are, in fact, awake.

As far as memories go, I always "suffer" from strong senses of deja vu which I suppose may be a similar phenomenon.

when I was seven or eight I went through exactly what you described for a while. It was scary as shit.

no no no, i can tell when im awake due to the fact i can feel and cant jump 30ft in the air, when im dreaming, like a said, i dream about doing absolutely normal things, i pretty much just dream about what i did that day but with minor changes that i couldnt remeber and my brain just filled in, so i wake up the next morning unable to distinguish which bits were real and which bits were just my imagination from yesterday and that night, if u get me. oh yeah, i always get de-ja-vu aswell, mines kinda like a small video clip, lasting from 1 to around 6 seconds long, its just like id watched it a long long time ago in my sleep... mad as fuck, theres so much shit i just have no idea about, even things as close to me as my brain... i have no idea how i think, how i feel, how i walk.. its madness... i need to go to college or summit and find out...

I'm a little confused now. You dream about the day you just had? Like your dreams are a "repeat" of what you just experienced?

I think that is what he means.

Ive had dreams about shit ive done during the day and woke up and been like, "WTF?". Ive had dreams so realistic that ive woken up saying, How'd i get into my bed?.

I definatley think I know what he means.

like.. you think back and remember someone saying something: so you bring it up with that person and they're like uhhhh no.. I never said that. So you're like oh I must've dreamt it.

I get thatt ALLLL the time. And the other way around.. someone will say something or something will happen and later I'll think about it and be like wait did I dream that or did it actually happen?

I don't really have an explanation for why this happens though. I don't have to be lucid dreaming for it to occur though- but I'd imagine that becoming lucid very often in your dreams would make it that much more difficult to figure out.


well you're not alone. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless its a hugeee interference in real life.

well thank fuck for that! i knew someone would no what i meant!!! and im glad other people get this as well as me cos i thought i was goin crazy! and everyone else did, mind u, really starts a mad conversation when ure trying to tell someone that they said something to u the other day in your dream or when you were awake and that u were just making sure that u got what they were saying and that whatever u or they said to you meant absolutely nothing at all... kinda..! i confuse myself sometimes...

there is a calvin and hobbes strip in which calving wakes up, gets ready, goes to school, does homework etc. then his mom wakes him up and he realizes that it was all a dream.

i've had mornings like this

for me the mood of the dream is dependent on whether or not i thing the upcoming day is going to be good or bad.

sometimes dreams even help me sort out solutions to problems. it is like living a second life, its just very different.
