This is identical to saying that you cannot question claims that people's faith-related beliefs are based on. For instance, the Scientologists claim that aliens landed on a volcano thousands of years ago and planted humans here. Applying your logic to that scenario would be tantamount to saying nobody can question claims like that.

In other words, you set the rules, and then you lost the game, or in this case, debate.
If everything we know about jesus is hearsay, then so is what we read he did or did not exhibit regarding what he did.
If you'd like to change your original argument and suggest there are things we know about Jesus that is NOT hearsay, then please do so.

Not sure why you think this has to do with belief. If what we know about Jesus is hearsay, then there is no factual proof Jesus ever existed.

^responding to j's first post- i agree, and its the belief that guides the behavior. whether or not any given belief is true or not has no consequence on how we create our reality. what we belive is true, we act on, and express through. and truth is irrelevent anyway if you think about it. tom cruise acts on his beliefs in xinu, i act on my beliefs. i see logic more as a way of finding commonalities than any kind of deducer of truth. what aspects of our beliefs do we agree on that causes us to behave in ______ way or to think in ______ way? well you use logic to find that. but the beliefs themselves, even if rooted in "logic" or "science" are never the same in the same way that each of our handprints are never the same. or no two leaves are the same. they might look similar if you look at them from far enough away but if you get into the small details they are infinitely different.

individuals are choosing in every second. choosing thoughts, choosing emotions, choosing actions, choosing wants, choosing judgements, etc etc etc. the sum of those choices is their creation of reality. the fact that you can say "i dont think ____________" means you have the power to decide what you think. and the fact that you can do what you want to do means that you can make those thoughts/beliefs a reality. creating our realities, in total, is what we are doing every second of every day. hell, you just created that sentence. your consciousness caused those letters to appear in that specific sequence so as to communicate an idea to me. its a matter of are you paying attention to what you are creating or are you running on autopilot? are you creating what you want or are you creating what you dont want?
