The Movie of Your Life
I've been reading up (again) on near death experiences, and one theme that seems to be in a lot that i've read is the event of the 'movie of your own past' playing out before you.
the thought of this scares me to no end. i don't want to see some parts of my life over again. in many accounts, your life is played over meticulously, some even in slow motion, paused...i simply cannot imagine the sheer humiliation and horror one must feel at that point. a lifetime of events projected as one streaming movie that can be stopped, slowed, or paused at the whim of another. reliving extremely painful events you had experienced yourself, or put upon another. imagine that happening to you in this life, on earth. what would it do to change who you are, and how you are from now until death? or would it affect you at all?

whos to say its reliving bad moments...whos to say its not a series of happy times you see when you die...
sounds like your being pretty negative...

I've had several hypnotherapy sessions where I purposefully relive bad parts of my life. Sounds crazy, right? Nope. When there, although it was a horrible time in life, insight was gained from it... freedom was gained from it. We carry allot of shit around because of perspective. Even though we don't sit around thinking about the bad times all the time, they're carried in our bodies and in our hearts. So, gaining new perspective of them FREES US

i'm just going by what i've read so far...in most of what i've read the 'movie' goes over every single moment of your life, good and bad...i just meant that the bad, whether it was directed at me, or whether i directed the 'bad' elsewhere... i don't want to see it. too difficult.

every heard the phrase "what goes around, comes around"?
you're an expression of source energy, an angel of God: whatever you want to consider yourself, you are eternally supported by the infinity of all other expressions and angels (remember that even satan is an angel). there is nothing in your experience other than your self and the relation you choose to whatever other expressions you engage. due to our linear method of assessing and integrating experience, the total effects of those engagements are fragmented and delayed along a line. so for example, say you punch someone in the face. right now you'll feel your fist against their cheek, and you'll go about your way thinking that's the end of it. but you're really punching you! your modes of thought and assessment have only made it appear to you that you are punching something outside of you. but remember, in all your experience there is only you and your relations to the Infinite. . . and since you choose how you relate to people, that ultimately makes them a part of you! they are their own person, but your experience of them is a part of you, a part of who you are. so it is really only you, punching you. in death you are forced out of your linear mode of thought, and the delusion of punching "someone else" fades away. you remember that you operate within a closed system, and immediately the other half of the experiential equation rushes to meet you. in linearity, feelings are one-sided. an analogy would be throwing a rubber ball to the ground and having it stay there. when this delusion can no longer be maintained, such as in death, all the balls you've thrown come bouncing back. there's no punishment or divine retribution in this, it's mere physics: the mechanics of reality. there's nothing to be afraid of. . . ever. ![]()

^Good post.
And also. Let's take for instance the guilt I feel for terrible ways that I've treated my step-son (of course there's more to it... but I'll just use this because who can get worse than child abuse, right?). I've beat myself up for a really long time. Before any of this happened, I formed a conclusion about myself and this abuse was an expression of that conclusion. Going back before this act and finding out when, where, and why this conclusion was formed gives birth to a new conclusion and freedom from the old one. Does that make sense? ![]()

I think ppl forget that with death comes ego death as well. Its the ego that makes your parts of your life hurtful and joyful. Withought Ego there's no feelings neither anger nor joy nor hurt. So you will watch the movie from critical eye without any emotions.
That's what a deep meditator said to me any way one time. |

I can't help but think that, as I watch my past replay, I will be rolling my eyes and thinking, "God, what a tard! What was I thinking?"

^lol, Rev
![]() Well and I think that the term 'ego' can be defined differently by different people as well. I personally don't believe that we lose our sense of (our 'essence') what makes us individual spirits... but we also remember (or feel... darn language is insufficient) our connection to God/ All That Is/ Divine. So, we look at ourselves with love and not with judgment (at least not in the same way). My mother describes her near-death experience as 'peaceful'... she was still 'herself' but with a different sense. She was not afraid (many would be while floating above and watching themselves flat line... lol, but that's the difference between spirit and body with human fears). Of course, she didn't have the 'life movie' and she didn't have the tunnel either. She was simply outside of herself, watching it all. She also spoke to an angel and passed through a wall so they could talk in the garden outside. The experience was all 'verifiable' too. Our human selves can much more easily accept that we are victims than that we are victimizers but most of us have been both. Maybe if we're ready when we die, we are able to embrace our enemies and become whole within ourselves. It would be nice to honestly forgive... totally. I'm not there yet ![]()

^I don't really think you can love your enemies. Its natural everyone will have enemies but I don't think we need to love them forcefully or anything.
I mean I don't really think you can live your life in a normal way by not having enemies or loving all ppl. The key for me is guiltyness. If I do something wrong (including hurting someone) and I feel guilty, I instantly know I am wrong, but If somebody hits me and I hit him back (metaphorically speaking), I don't feel guilty or feel that I've done somefing wrong and it would come back to haunt me. |

I would honestly love to watch a movie of my life...If your not living like you are writing the greatest story you could tell than what are you living for? Tragedy is just fuel for future bliss...

To add it's the tragedies of life that make for the best stories...No one would watch a movie where everything goes right for everyone...

fo sho. it would be very dull. but not all of the best stories are tradgies...i think the best stories are comedies. laughter teaches us too, and it feels a whole lot better than the alternative.
