The Language of God
I'm reading a book entitled 'The Language of God' by Francis S Collins, an established and esteemed scientist. (He was a member of the team for the Human Genome Project)
He began as agnostic, transforming into athiest, and now finally a believer in God. Very interesting read so far...anybody read it? Thoughts?

his journey from not knowing about God's existence, to believing in God completely, after discovering several things...one impressive and impressionable thing for him was reading C.S. Lewis' books, such an established scholar believing did something for him...but I haven't gotten that far in the book. I think his discovery of the human genome futhered his belief that there must be a God...it wouldn't be possible without God, he discovered. When I get further in, I'll post more, if you're interested.

i finished the book. it was great. the guy's a genius on many levels.
through a lifelong search, with plenty of scientific experiements, and research, he came to the conclusion that there has to be a God. he explained how it's so very possible for science and faith to coexist in harmony. God created earth, therefore he created science. humans create violence and oppression and hatred, and only humans can fix that. not only does he tackle all of the famous athiests of our day, and agnostics, he counters some believers, such as intelligent design, and some other sects. he is very well-read on the subject of spirituality. he certainly knows his bible, and has answers for all the questions that he feels he needs answers to. he explains all the open-ended questions in science as not having yet been discovered. although he sees God's touch in the natural world. he explains all the open-ended spiritual questions with confidence and faith in a way that to me is perfectly reasonable and sensible. i highly recommend this book, to believers and non believers alike. lots and lots of good factual information in this book.
