Theres no use fearing the inevitable. Since it will happen, accept it. Make due with what you have, no matter how much time you have left of it. Worrying about the things you can't control will deter the value of the life you are living now, so don't dwell on lives that might happen or deatht hat might happen, live for today.

Well, as a mother/ wife/ daughter, once in a while the thought creates a fear. I guess people are just more careful when they have kids. But as far as death itself... not really. It's a 'fear of the unknown' type of thing. I watched a good friend die recently and it evoked allot of feelings that I didn't know that I had. I had an experience while in a mild trance state during a healing ceremony in his honor lead by a tribal elder. I felt his spirit and saw him smile behind closed eyelids. It could be explained away with psychology but I feel that he really was there. My mom also had a NDE and I have every reason to believe that life continues. When I have found myself in doubt and thinking that maybe there is nothing after this (which seems sillier to me than believing there is with all things considered and even when attempting to be 'scientific')... well, what is there to fear? If we're gone, we're gone... right? I hope I don't suffer and linger for years.

death is the facade we hid our true nature behind.

Atleast dying will begin with hallucinations just like sleep, trip, unconsiciousness begins. Donno what will happen after that though.
Am I scared of dying: Ofcourse I am. Why: Cuz unlike other processes, this one is irreversible. Last edited by Vik*star*; 05-27-2008 at 07:42 PM. |

I'd like to hold off for a while and get some more living done, but the only fear I have of death is that it is unknown and uncontrollable, but that also makes it sound kind of cool. I like to say I'm cautiously curious about death.

It can be scary to think about but there's nothing we can do about it, it's going to happen. I hope it's while I'm sleeping, extremely drunk or knocked unconscious then die but having the luck I've always had I'm sure I'll go out with a broken back while holding my own intestines in my hands and choking on blood and vomit till i finally expire 3 hours later.

deaths the next logical progression...ask a baby if he was scared to be born, you have no choice in the matter.....but death is not something to fear...
you actually cannot destroy energy, therefore, you can't really die off.....your energy still lingers Last edited by matthewmunari; 06-04-2008 at 01:18 PM. |

No, I'm actually a little comforted by the fact that I won't have to pull off living forever. Regardless of what happens in the end, it doesn't scare me. I'm open to the possibilities of being reincarnated, sent to heaven/hell, being in a state of lucid dreaming...whatever people come up with to explain death, it seems alright by me. I don't feel like I'm going to die until I'm very old and the way I die doesn't scare me either as long as I know, in my time of dying, that I have done everything I wanted to do while I was alive.
