does anybody ever think that dieing will be like waking up from one big stupid dream?

Well i have been thinking and it always crosses my mind that when i die it will be like waking up from a vivid stupid dream, like knowing everything from all your past lives at once and realizing what a cunt you have been all your life. ever since i started thinking like this i have been trying to transfer all the dislike and hate i have for people into love.

i like to think of life as a circle or a spiral, with death being just a point on the line

My point wasn't about bad vs good...

Why wait to realize in death what you can realize through living...We have only the capacity to understand what is needed now, when it is time to walk through those doors do so...

It's interesting to read about suicide from a non-western perspective. In some cultures it is a viable option. Not personally commmenting here. Just adding this because of the "death viewed as a bad thing" few words, although I understood you to be saying that as a look at the otherside thing, which is why I'm adding.

I understand what you are saying but suicide is interupting the flow of life, you die when you die for a reason. yes, death is seen as a bad thing in our society but death and suicide are different things xD in my opinion anyhoo. it is obvious we are put here for a reason maybe finding the reason is the reason we were put here in this lifetime.

I wouldn't add a but to what I'm saying, because what I am saying is the death/suicide are the same thing in some cultures and that the reason you die is because its your time, regaurdless of which hand its by.

I appriciate what you are saying and I'm glad that you feel that you are here for a purpose.

I believe that when you die, you won't even know it

There's no purpose besides your own, no meaning besides your own, just a cycle of life and death with a multitude of experiences taking place at any given time. It's quite beautiful really.

^Indeed

Perhaps you never "wake up" at all, perhaps that is not a viable option.

Greener Grass? Does it end at life, or is it just a new grass to consider?

Shadau... i can honestly say ive thought about that..

and come to the conclusion that it is entirely possible.. and i meen even though i am a woman on this go around, whose to say that i hadnt been a guy in a past life who im trying to balance out.. and boy could we all have to potential to look pretty stupid in the face of what we've done here in the past.....

Quote:
it is obvious we are put here for a reason maybe finding the reason is the reason we were put here in this lifetime.
what if it takes several lifetimes to fully understand the purpose of being here. If we are put on this earth many times over, do you think that it takes 10s,(maybe more times) on this earth to honestly figure it out? Like we are playing a subconsious game of 20 questions with our spirits constantly eliminating possible reasons and then eventually get it right while in a human body? the next questions is.. is it possible for a spirit to never understand its true purpose?

just a thought

if only none of us had had all this religious boolocks hammered into our minds at a young age. i think it becomes extremely hard for people to picture death without thinking of it as some kind of afterlife, or to picture anything at all.

all we seem to know is living, and we transfer that knowedge onto our ideas of death. I always try and think of it like the infinite span of space. Cold, Black, and nobody has a clue whats there.

there are so many paradoxes and logical contradictions when it comes to thinking of death, its almost not worth thinking about.
