Moldavite / Tektites
Anyone here ever heard of Moldavite? It's a gemstone found in the tektite family of meteorites.
Moldavite is the product of a meteor collision with Earth nearly 15 million years ago. It fell over what is now called the Moldau River Valley in the Czech Republic. These green gems are among the most rare minerals on earth. They have been prized by humans for thousands of years and are still given as gifts from royalty to royalty. In legend, it is believed Moldavite was the green stone in the Holy Grail and has the power to quicken one's spiritual evolution.
Even people not sensitive to the energies of stones often feel the energy of Moldavite. Many sense it as heat, tingling or pulsing sensation in their hand. Others feel a rush of energy through their body, usually upwards out the top of their head. Moldavite's high vibrational energy is a powerful chakra opener, particularly at the heart and above. Sleeping with Moldavite activates the dream state. Wearing it helps manifest positive life change.
Any thoughts?

Woah never heard of it. I'm into that kind of stuff too.
You should look into monoatomic gold.

When you look at it... You just know it's from outerspace haha. The way it's formed is so weird.

went to a psychic once.
"Holt out yorh ands," she says (in whatever dialect it was, something like you'd imagine a gypsy would sound like i guess), so I do. "One pahlm ss alf life. Ot-her pahlm ss alf life. You unterstand? I reat alf life, or 'ole life?"
"What's the difference?" I say. "Alf cost fhive, 'ole is fhifteen." I hate spoiling endings, so I went for the discounted reading. She wasn't too specific when I asked her if she considered the midway point my late forties, or if she wouldn't mind finishing the session coherently at retirement, or if she had bad news, but I know she wanted to sell me some of these here chakra stones. Obviously not that specific kind you're talkin' 'bout, SD, but I didn't know that palm readers and the energy stones went hand in hand (yuk yuk).

It's pretty cool stuff, even if you don't buy into the whole metaphysical aspect. The creation of it really blows me away. My uncle's a jewelry designer and Moldavite's the main stone he works with; that's how I initially found out about and came to love it. I sell some of his work on the side to make some extra money. Check out my website Moldavite Plus if you're interested. This is one of my favorite designs:

Awesome pic Nug King.
Pieces of that beauty and texture only came from one particular locality known as Besednice which has since been completely mined out, so they're quite rare. Of course Moldavite in general is quite rare. More diamonds can be mined out of one location in one day than the Moldavite that's unearthed in an entire year.

Cool looking stuff and there's definitely some awesome practical applications. To bad it's too brittle to be made into jewelry.

Yeah, there's something that looks very similar that they make jewelry out of but damn if I can remember the name of it, all I know is I saw adds for it everywhere when I was in Ocho Rios, and it wasn't cheap stuff.

Opals look a little similar and can be quite expensive.
