meditation

Recently ive been getting back into a regular practice of meditiation. Its soo good for the body and mind and is great to do if u have some kava. It makes me relax and makes my mind go into a higher level. It takes some practice but i advise evry1 to try it at least once, there is really no wrong way and no bad effects

Kava

I've been considering going to my local GNC and buying some Kava gelcaps. Can you go a little deeper on the effects and how it aids your meditation? I used to think smoking herb helped my meditations but I realized it just clouds my mind. The only way it helps me is that it keeps me patient and my mind occupied with all the colors and patterns when I close my eyes to meditate.

Meditation is certainly a useful tool, a great one in fact.

However, Id say up tp 95% of the people in America have no idea what they are doing. Not that they are incorrectly meditating (which they probably are) but that their intentions are wrong.

This probably won't make sense accept to those who actually know what I'm talking about - in which case this post was pointless.

thats the thing. meditation is about whatever you want it to be. some people use it for spiritual reasons, some for stress relief, or what ever the case may be. I prefer to do transcendental meditation because thats wat my grandma tauhgt me. ( she has cancer and has studied shamanism, and met the dahli lama, etc)

to the other guy- At least for me, kava just relaxes me and lets my mind clear. all through the day i have so much stress and when i come to meditate, sometimes it takes a while to silence my racing thoughts and focus more. Mind you, kava has been used in ceremonies for a long time and is only a tool. You dont HAVE to use it just to meditate, but recently i tried it just to try it and had really good effects. Also the kava for me just makes me concetrate so much while relaxing my body completely. Intresting stuff huh?

well like anything if used in moderation it can be cool and not harmful. it has potential liver toxicity if used in repeated extreme doses. its available at like cvs, health food stores, and werever u can get vitamins and supplements. It relaxs you for a while and makes your mouth numb for a little bit. i mean it really chills me out and if u take a little more than it says on the bottle its like a mild weed high for a short wile. if u have the extract then just mix sum with warm water and drink. its not as horrid as ppl claim it to be.

I agree, but I can teach you things MUCH better for stress reducation, help, insight, etc. Meditation is nowadays used for anything, and as long as someone can make money doing it, he'll tell you how to do anything through meditation.

You could always try to make people understand what you're talking about...

Just an idea.

I tend to fall asleep when I try to meditate. Any ideas on getting past that problem?

well your probably so used to trying to fall asleep wen u close your eyes that its hard for you to go into a trance wile eyes closed. my suggestion would be to sit up straight, if you are lying down.
