Afterlife

What are your personal beliefs in what the Afterlife is (or lack thereof, depending on your beliefs).

I personally think the phrase "As above, so Below" sums up my views. I think it will be like this world but with new rules and everything. And since I also think we spent the majority of Existance there (not on Earth/Physical), I prefer to call it the Pre-Life rather than Afterlife. IMO, this life is the Afterlife and my true life begins at Death.

You die. Then you laugh. Then you pick another script...or not.

The laughing part is most important.

There's nothing worse than a god that obsesses over a finished life.

I think all I will be able to do is laugh...same way I laugh when I'm peaking on a trip.

It's a laughter in regard to "THAT'S what this was all about? It's that simple?"

Our physical bodies go back to the cycle of the earth and we loose our individual isolated aspects and our souls go on doing their thing in the cycle. Nothing changes, just our perception of everything. No perception.

Or something like that I'm really tired.

One of my theories is that we will be sort of a spirit with no physical body or brain and we will not be bound by any physical laws. So we'll be like a "floating preception" or something. But then again I dunno if there's like some sort of structured system or any sort of rules or authority in the afterlife. If that's the case then I'm imagining something sort of like standing in a long ass line waiting to talk to Saint Peter.

Once, the spirit of a live man came to me in a dream and told me, "we are already dead" He was afraid the next day that I misinterpretted the message but I let him know that to me it meant, 'we never really die'.

I really hope its like how Lester Burnem explained it in american beauty. But the truth is when your dead your dead.

My friend and I were talking tonight and she brought up a really great point. We often wonder that if there are previous lives to this one, why can't we even begin to remember them?

And she says, "Maybe forgetting is God's gift?"

She meant of course that if we DID remember our past lives, no learning would occur and we'd never be able to move on. We have a hard enough time dealing with all the drama we go through in this life, imaging having another 160 years on of that? She said that forgetting was the best gift to us. We get a clean slate everytime.

But I agree with your Dream message...there is nothing to die. The Body cannot die because it's my Life Force, my Soul, that gives Life to the body, and that is pure energy, which is indestructible.

How can you cease to exist? I find this harder to concieve than an afterlife.

It was our decision... God does not will one to forget. It was a decision made in its entirity. if we want to remember, we can but as you have pointed out, we are here to learn. If we have a billion songs going through our brains all at once, how can we sing one of them?

Hi Bondi. It is funny... I have tried not to assert any given belief upon my children because I believe that faith is innate (of course as they get much older, they do pick up on some of what I believe just through certain situations that come along where I feel the need to voice my opinion. ). Anyway, my son said something the other day about "when he gets little again" (he's four). I said, "Sweety, you don't get little again, you just grow up, get old, and die"... he said, "YEAH, and then you get little again" lol... I couldn't very well argue with that one!!! When my daughter was around his age or younger, she remembered before she was born... when 'they' gave her blood and bones and stuff. She DEFINATELY didn't get that from me. Some people do remember much more than others and have different experiences. I only need to guide my children and try to keep them safe. I do not need to teach them about God because they already know (my daughter communicates regularly with her angel... I'm almost jealous ).

Death is a pradox. If you die you'll never know it.

Here's the idea....

From 3rd person point of view:

We're all at a party and everyone's having a good time. You see me stand up grab my chest and fall to the floor. You call 911 and the paramedics put me on a gurney, into the back of the ambulance and drive of. Everyone shares an moment of silence. Some people go home others stay and continue partying.

From a 1st person point of view:

I experience a chest pain stand up and catch my breath. A few women notice it and come over and give a little sympathy and we laugh. I explain that it was the burrito I ate on the way over and someone hands me a drink. I settle down, and then continue having a good time.

I personally don't believe in death. I will never know when I am dead.

Have a great day!

^ I love that

"I see dead people" hehe... they're everywhere... they're everywhere ... Ah, but there's more... there's always more

For some reason, I just remembered a dream from last night. I died (or something?) and I was in this white room, standing before a big white fan. Between every blade, I could see worlds... I could see peices of color and things happening within worlds. I was disappointed and said, "Is that all there is here? Just a big fan?" (not sure who I was talking to but someone answered back with laughter) It was only one place... one plane... and one segment, the corner of all others.

I think I'll know exactly when I die. I also think I'll be able to say, "That life is passed and my new life (old life) truly begins now."

Damn it, you guys are making it very difficult to get motivated to clean house. Lemme see... do I want to dive into a pile of dirty dishes and mop the floor or do I want to sit here and talk about beautiful things with beautiful people?

Well, I do think that most know when they die but there are others who may not. But see, once the life is over, the spirit is freed and physical laws no longer apply so that is a big clue. I still really enjoy Pizza Guy's scenario though... it is a possibility but the characters who you continue to enjoy life with are segments of spirit that you have held close.... enough to give them life to you for a short period of time. One reason that people could speculate that you know when you die is to read of NDEs. My mother actually had one so I have no doubt... I know that she is not 'full of it' and she had proof to herself. She was told that she had work here to do and she was not ready to go yet. But the proof lies in the things that she saw on the other side of the hospital wall... things that she did not know were real until later. It was proof that she had left her body and viewed the hospital garden without the use of her eyes or her physical brain.
