2008 NHL Playoffs!

c'mon now, wheres the love? my preds got a big win tonight, and my playoff bracket is NOT looking good. who we rooting for? whos disappointing, whos looking good? all i can do is watch highlights online and go to bars to watch predators games (kentucky thinks that Versus isnt a basic cable channel). whats up around the league?

^ it's not Gerbers fault, he is playing wayyy better than anyone could have ever expected. Some bullshit reffing, injuries to 3 top players, and a Penguins team that is on fire is why the Sens are getting owned.

I really don't follow hockey much.

They really need to start letting the bad teams into the playoffs so that people will actually start following the NHL.

The Sharks held a 3-0 lead in game 3 over the Flames when Cory Sarich threw this devasting hit on Patrick Marleau. Iginla tipped in a goal on the next play, and the flames went on to score 4 unanswered goals to win it in regulation. I have never seen a body check win a hockey game before (which didn't involve Scott Stevens).

Ya, but there were some VERRRY iffy calls in that game that led to goals.

Not to mention they beat the shit out of Marleau. That blood in the vid is not from that hit, it is from when he got hit into the boards hard(no penalty called)

you obviously have not watched many games with chris pronger. as much as i hate what he did to edmonton (and his goon type antics that seem to follow him everywhere), we definitely won games because of his hitting.

I was looking for the old NHL thread yesterday.

I had to take a couple of games off after the Canes' meltdown there at the end of the season. I'm sure the rest of the NHL is glad number 8 and the Caps made it in instead, though.

I too am looking forward to a Pens/Caps matchup second round, if Washington can do it. I don't give a shit about the west, although this Minnesota-Colorado series is one of the most entertaining I have ever seen. The Avs are about the only team I ever follow from the west, so I'm jumping on their bandwagon. Otherwise, may the best team win.

Fuckin Hurricanes.

when i was watching the game and saw the sarich hit, i couldn't stop make crazy noises and i think i came during a couple of the replays. that's what i love about my flames. they play like my chicago bears but on the ice. mad defense and they go out and try to knock dudes' weenies off.
