This is possible how? Im 99% sure it isnt. well, I know nothing of cars made in diff. countries, My assumptions are that they are the same engine wise, and therefore it cant be done. Id like to know your thoughts on why it can be though...

Remember that these discovery channel geniuses used only 1 gallon, right after they had used a gallon of deisel. it does affect the engine.

I have a friend who`s been running his mercedes truck on veg oil for five years with no ill effects (20,000 miles+). I know it`s true, when you follow him it smells like a barbecue. Sometimes he has problems if it`s too cold and he hasn`t thinned the mix enough. Other people I know have run a variety of bangers for a good while on veg oil- the cars have passed away for different reasons (usually MOT failures), like I say you don`t want to experiment on a brand new turbodiesel worth £20,000+. Obviously the petrochemical industry has a vested interest in keeping us in the dark about this- it`s up to us to find out the facts. There is no reason the right motor can`t run for it`s natural milage on veg oil.

If you don`t beleive me buy the cheapest diesel car you can and destruction test it with veg oil.

Okay, here we go...

The 'conversion kit' is a second tank and non rubber lines, since the glycerin in the WVO will eat the rubber lines. If you used treated WVO (glycerin removed) you can pour it straight into the tank the car came with.

MBZ diesels and VW diesels are what you want if you live in a warm place, if it gets cold at night, like in the thirties, you'll need a warmer of some type to keep the oil viscous. Usually what they do is run the cars radiator fluid in a loop around a secondary tank in order to warm it up. Start it on regular diesel until the WVO warms up enough to flow.

WVO is good for someone who is going to be driving at least 20 to 25 miles one way, anything shorter wont really offset the cost of a now emerging commodity.

Less that 20 miles a day?

Go electric.

Cost of a conversion kit is less than 2000 dollars, which is what you would spend in a year on gas anyways.
The other cost you could be thinking of is the labour, because some car places do conversions,and that is anywhere from 2000 to 7000, but my brother is doing it himself...

You think you're going to be able to run down to your local fast food place and just ask them for it?

We already have companies who run around and buy this stuff from the big chains, the little guys will be figuring out it can fetch some cash soon too, even if you own your own restaurant you still gotta pony up for the oil in the first place.

I'm serious, go electric, the wind and the sun are still free...

well actually we have 27 55 gallon plastic barrell sitting outside filled with vegetable oil, and yes, i do think i can go to our local fast food joint and ask them for it.
weve done it. they have to pay a company to 'dispose' of it, even though that company prob just dumps it in the lakes.
