They could, however, afford to give us gas that is a mix of ethanol and petrol, like say they have been doing for quite some time now


they would just bump the amount of ethanol in it...

The other cost you could be thinking of is the labour, because some car places do conversions,and that is anywhere from 2000 to 7000, but my brother is doing it himself...

But if you drive 20 miles to work each day, and it takes 18 of them to warm up the tank of oil, then is it worth the 2 miles you are going to be running on oil to pay for the kit and install



I'm all for you doing this by the way, I think it's cool. I would be hungry smelling those burritos all the time though

Im pretty sure that thats not how this conversion is going to work... I think like any deisel you have to wait for a while before you turn the engine over, but I know he wont be using deisel. There is a way to start the engine on vegetable oil.
haha well thats the whole reason i wanna be converting, so i can make stoners trip out thinkin they smell burritos and fries =P

You can use a heater for the lines and the tank making cold starting on WVO no problem at all, you simply plug the car into the wall when its parked for a long enough time for the WVO to coagulate, keeping it viscous...




But hey really, if you're going to plug it into the wall anyway, why not eliminate all the fucking hassle of WVO and just go electric?

but your pretty hell bent on changin my mind, and gettin my car to be electric...
the reason it wont be electric is because the car, and conversion kit is already bought, as well as rediculous amount of hours of research.

No no no, don't get me wrong, I'm all for you using WVO. See I'm contemplating sinking a bunch of money into NEV's and EV's for the local market, you're research as far as I'm concerned, first hand accounts. Please, keep this thread updated for me, I'm as interested in your success as much as I am your failures. I hope you have many of one and few of the others.

Most people travel less than forty miles one way to work, there are plenty of EV's and conversions on the market right now, very viable and available and more folks should know about them and embrace EV's. Its whats next.
