NBA fixed?
with the recent allegations of that NBA ref Tim Donaghy who said that playoff series in 2002 and 2005 were rigged to force game sevens, who else feels that the NBA is somewhat fixed? look at the amount of foul shots that were taken by the celtics in game 2, compared to the amount of foul shots taken by the lakers in game 3. the league goes from having one of the worst seasons in history as far as ratings to having one of the best in recent years. its too perfect. celtics and lakers in the finals is the most ideal matchup they could have asked for. the lakers were favored to win, but most likely the league prefers the celtics to win, to restore the franchise. the series will most likely be stretched out to a seventh game. think of it. thats one more night of a sold out arena, tv ratings, advertising, and entertainment. they are going to get their moneys worth of out this moment like they already are. think of all the major stars who were traded this season, to stir things up and create a competitive playoff bracket. could all of this hyped-up, picture-perfect season really have happened on its own? im almost undoubtedly sure that referees are influenced to sway certain calls, such as not calling penalties on big-name players or making certain calls to put the game in one team's favor. thoughts?

Here's the email I just sent to Colin Cowherd, a ESPN RADIO analyst.
Hi Colin. This email is in regards to the recent allegations that came public yesterday by Tim Donaghy. Everyone I have seen and listened to, that works for ESPN and ESPN Radio, or the NBA, have basically been lending no credibility to what Donaghy has to say. I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist by any means, but I think there's something else at play. ESPN and ESPN Radio crave the very same ratings as the NBA and television networks. So, of course these analysts are going to discredit these accusations. If it got out that the NBA was indeed rigged, and the public lost interest in professional basketball, these analysts and the company's they are employed by could stand to lose a lot of money. I'd like to urge real sports fans to decide on their own, and not simply believe the opinions of the people that might say certain things to ensure these allegations remain to appear false (such as TV and radio analysts, GM's, the NBA, etc...).
