.38 is nice, but ive never really been a fan of revolvers, esp. for target shooting.
like its been said, the desert eagle is a bit too much...
you might also want to think ammo... prices for bullets and shells have gone up drastically with the prices of metal so expensive.

you might just want to get a pimp looking 9mm, but i think the .44 is a fair compromise

also, if you get a shotgun for self-defense, go for a pump action. i know it may seem lame, but its super cheap (i think my pump was $200 less then the semi-auto version) and you can get the shots off JUST as fast as a semi

A collectors item? Yours and the other two million in circulation.

I'm not gonna say dont get it because that'd be idiotic, guns are frickin' awesome. It's just iirc, don't you live in a city/suburbia? Doesn't seem like it'd get the appreciation it deserves cooped up in your sock drawer until you can take it down to the range.

If you want something you could potentially efficiently defend your house with (at the risk of killing all your sleeping neighbours though) and have a reasonable excuse for owning it, get a smaller caliber gun, just get a badass one. It'll save you a shitload too.

it came out sort of wrong. i'm asking what one (hand)gun would be all any man would ever want/need to keep him happy.

Cheap, quiet, effective at a range close enough to matter. I won't miss it at the bottom of the river either.

Yeah that mini guy you posted is definite bandanna to sewer grate material.
Killa what kind of assualt rifle is that(first one)? It looks romanian with a nice stock.

Yeah but that glock is probably the slickest thing I've ever seen in my life. I'd totally put a bible(or any stephen king book) cover on it and cut it so it could still fold out.

merc- from the way you talk about firearms you dont deserve to own one.

but for home defense, target shooting and cheap ammo you need to go with a 9mm. esceically if your not used to handing guns and shooting them because if you arnt you have no business shooting or owing a .44 or any large caliber.

kind of like motorcylces you dont start out with the biggest baddest one because you will end up hurting yourself.
