Yeah I do eat every thing I shoot. The only thing I shoot that I don't eat are black birds/trash birds.
Yeah, when I go squirrel hunting I don't shoot them to watch them die. I shoot them to kill them, no suffering involved. That's the ultimate challenge. If you can do that, you've accomplished something not every one can do. I.E. "Professional hunters" My best memories of growing up were hunting with my Dad and friends. It's so much fun to try to camoflauge your self in some cold, wet, green swamp grass. First you have to get the bait out before sun rise. Then you sit, and wait. You can call, but there's no need. They will do a fly around, if they come close, you can shoot. If you can tell they are going to land, then you wait for them to hit the water and look at each other. Then stand up and watch were they go, while leading one and picking one out at a time. If you can get two ducks in one try, that's pretty decent. All I can say is.. these guys need dogs. duck hunting - Google Video |

I don't hunt. There are plenty of hunters here in Pennsylvania, But I'm not one of them. I just like firearms. I did 3 years in the Army, so I got pretty good at it. It a great way to blow off stress, and an interesting hobby.

Go for a 9mm or a .45. My best friend has a govt issue glock .40 and I'd totally trade my 9 for it. The revolver you poster merc is imo too stubby for an accurate shot and when your spraying slugs, you don't wanna have to have a 2 inch barrel. Revolvers are cool for if you want no shell casings to come out for a straight up killin. Also, with a revolver your gonna have to pull the side out, and load only 6-8 shots again. Home home defense, I'll take this 9mm with 17 rounds of ammo in the clip. The 38 has alot alot of knockdown power but not as manuaverable.
Left is a S&W .38, Right is a S&W .22, Top is a S&W .22, and bottom is a Ruger P-85 9mil ![]() Right is the P-85 again ![]()

![]() ![]() You made my day. This is the exact gun I have. Voted gun of the year in either 06 or 07 I believe. Very nice pistol. To the original poster, what is the gun for? Home defense or you getting you concealed carry license? if it's for the home, get a shotgun. More damage than a pistol, better for close quarters anyway, you don't have to worry about the bullet going through a wall and hitting your neighbor with a buckshot. Oh, not to mention to most people just hearing a shotgun racked will scare the shit out of them and they will take off running. But for concealed carry? The one quoted above is nice, as well as any Sig Sauer. Can't beat'em IMO. :bigjoin t: |

I've recently gone shooting for the first time and it was pretty damn fun. Any sort of game or sport that involves aiming as a skill I get addicted to easily(darts for example). Also my dad is going to take a concealed carry class and I think i'm going to take it with him and have been looking at a good first gun.
I was looking for a small, easy to carry concealed, solid, well shooting gun that would work for self defense for a decent price to be a good first gun and thanks to the almighty Veda I think i've found the perfect gun on the site she linked to. The springfield armory xd sub-compact Springfield Armory it retails for around 450 new as well so thats a pretty decent price for a first firearm. its got good reviews and I even like the looks of it. though it is kind of a love it or hate it look. |

I've had all kinds, a S&W 38, a Glock 36 .45, 357's. But what I carry ranges in extremes: I usually carry my Walther P99QA with 15 9mm in the clip and another 15 in the clip in the holster (shoulder holster) or a really small 5 shot .22 Short, North American Arms Derringer. On ocassion, or If I'm riding my motorcycle I might carry a 2 shot .357 Bond Arms Dettinger. As far as stopping power : 99% of the time, 5 shots to the chest even with a little .22, the body could'nt handle (physiologically). The bad side to all that is you have to be a really good shot.
