figured I needed a monster fit for the Muur & that is one of my old favorite stompers, glad ya dig
nothing like a 20% grade on old gnarly cobbles after 250k to smash the legs one last time.and fuck Jaysus & the EasterBunny.. .next weekend is Paris Roubaix.. the spring Classic that introduced me to the sport. I been lookin back at old clips and all the 80s synth is giving me goosebumps. watching Kelly & Fignon gritting their teeth is like seeing old friends again 172 started in 1985, 35 finished.. that's my kinda racing. ![]()

that finish was like a goat track, pulling away there took some serious legs (and balls).
Paris Roubaix - never watched one, but i hear alot about it afterwards. we have a new 24hr free sport channel, i'll cross my fingers for coverage.

nice, hope it's a good race at the end.
it doesn't have the climbs like the ronde, so it can be a little bit slower-paced viewing.. the one forest is pretty amazing, it's the only day of the year they open the road through it. by the end the same grimaces get a bit tiresome, but hopefully someone makes it interesting. don't think they're expecting it to be muddy this year, but not sure. anyways, probably a good easter day to munch on some of those goodies of yours

nice to see menchov get a Giro win
makes me think about that crash he had on the tour last year, he was trying to go with sastre on the day sastre effectively won the race. Sastre put together some great stages in this Giro

I can't wait for the tour. The giro was a nice warm up (watched on Universal sports, some NBC channel) and really showed how large the competition is for the GC in the tour. Liquigas has Bosso and Pellizotti. The Astana squad looks extremely strong (another team win if you ask me), and of course have Contador (who knows though with the financial issues) and Lance. Levi looks like he will be a big help, but I don't see him being in the top 8 in the GC because he's been in great form for so damn long (since feb). Sastre is looking great (look at his 2 stages win in the giro). I haven't seen the schleck brothers ride, but looking at their wins this year, I'd imagine them throwing down pretty hard. Menchov Also looks fantastic of course. He managed to never falter with Di Lucas repeated attacks.
I'm fucking excited. |

Who is ready for this tour?!?!?! I AM, I AM!
Though I will miss the last 3 days due to going on a cruise. God I hope I can make it through the cruise with out hearing a word/seeing the results on some sports news channel (my bro watches them all the time, so it will be hard to avoid). |

according to rumors, you'll likely get your wish in a few years.. after all, he'll need a new outlet for the ego once he gets smashed by the youngsters again next summer, right?
but then they just announced in the last month that IM competitors would be subject for OOC drug testing beginning in 2010.. and it's being performed by the WTC so hopefully USADA won't be able to get their dirty hands all over the process. guys like lance with middle'othepack cardio profiles might not be so eager to stay in the big boys pool once more endurance sports start taking their year-round testing programs more seriously. ultimately it all boils down to whether or not you continue to see the corrupt dynasties maintaining their hold over the various sporting bodies. on a more current & unfortunate note, we hear about the news of Frankie VDB turning up dead in a hotel today, 35 years of age, taken by a pulmonary embolism. the guy rode so smooth on a bike, he'd put you to sleep as he rode one wheel-sucking fool after another off his back. some days it is so beautiful to be a cycling fan, others are tragic. Too fucking many of the latter in the last 20 years..

who's raging bro? you think I was exaggerating, or kidding?
![]() appears I pretty much called the '09 tour to Le T, way back in Oct'08.. so if you'd like, i'll let you know late next summer what I think of Lancey's Kona hopes for '11.

he's not a bad swimmer or runner, but you never know how it's going to affect the field once they're all on the AICAR. w/kg like we've never seen before in the next few years.. wait and see.
but with the fresh unveiling of the '10 LeTour, Prudhomme has confirmed his redirection from last year and delivered on the fan's hopes to see more interesting racing in both the mountains and flat stages. No TTT, cobbles on stage 3 in the north of France and Belgium, and a huge last week featuring atleast 2 mountaintop finishes in the Pyrenees and a ~1hr 51km timetrial on the penultimate day., guys like Conto, Schlecks, Nibali, Gesink, Kreuzinger.. these are the ones you should be watching.. i'd even say it could be a good course for Evans to make good with the stripes on his back.. he should feel confident about absolutely killing it in the final TT. we don't know what to think about Wiggins, but he shows tons of class so we love the guy regardless. if you're really so eager to see Lance do well, you can always tune in to Nevada City again next year and watch him beat up on the Cat-1s..
