i think the issue here is not hunting in itself, but the killing of a pregnant animal

i dont think her husband could have known...but on the other hand if his redneck ass hadnt of been out hunting it wouldnt have happened either

Mine killed bambi's mother, bullwinkles brother, terry the turkey, pat the partridge, and timmy the snapping turtle....oh, and a cat.

(the cat had it coming, it was 18 years old and you had to pick it up and put it down in the litterbox then pick it back up and set it somewhere when it was done.)

sounds pretty gross. im scared of that karma...

much nicer to stick to select items from the plant kingdom and be friends with the animals whenever possible imo. who wants to cut open dead things and prepare meals through homicide and surgery?

well i was not always veg, but ill tell you when i went veg my consciousness changed and from the position of empathy and compassion i could never do that sort of thing.

Your husband should see this as a karma sign (killing a pregnant animal) and stop hunting.

fo real

ahh that's sad.

The ministry, although they won't admit it, has let loose cougars in regards to the overpopulation. I myself if I was a dear, would much rather be shot, then eaten alive by a cougar...or die slowly of starvation, or disease due to overpopulation.

I love eating it, but I don't enjoy seeing it before hand.

wow, that's all i can say is wow. karma for real? that's just lol worthy. Yes hunting for food is horrible. choosing as a meat eater to eat an animal that is killed humanely, born wild and raised wild over something that was raised in just atrociously horrible conditions, in many cases the butchering beginning while still alive and often conscious is a much better choice karma wise. gtfo.

I have heard this also. thank you, you were the only person who actually seemed to get why i was posting. Everyone else is being too busy being judgemental douches. I was sad about it. I don't take back our decision at all.

We don't take the animals any where to be processed, so we are part of the whole process from the hunt, the kill, field dressing, skinning, dressing, separating, storing, cooking and eating. I think if you are a family or individual that eats meat this is important to be a part of it like this. It gives you a respect for the animal and the cycle. It's not as impersonal as going to the store to pick up a prepackaged chunk of something or other. Being involved on this level gives you a respect and appreciation for life and it's cycle you are a part of if you are a meat eater.

That doesn't mean I can't be sad as another mother at the loss of that life and the life of a fetus.

well, try to develop a real understanding for the principle of karma and what it really means. understanding karma means mastering our control of our own life-experiences, futures, and interaction with the universe. 'karma' relays an idea and observation of ancient cultures that one's actions bring about mirrored effects. we control what we 'get' from the universe by what we 'give...namely to other beings. it is a simple but exact 'science'.

so yes perhaps hunting and personal meat eating is better than factory farms. i give you guys credit there. but as you see more from the totality of the experience...it it a strong act of violence, killing/murder of another being, disruption of families, causing of much pain and suffering...physical and emotional...and overall probably not the kind of experience you want for yourself in the future. let other beings do what they will . you are in control of Your own path. imo we should consider if our actions will bring desirable or tolerable reactions to us in our life.

in this view we should act as kindly as possible to all other living beings, even plants and insects, and never put our own well being above theirs because we are one and interconnected in a web of universal karma.
