Jeremy Mayfield countersued by NASCAR for drug use - Auto Racing
My letter is the only comment left I guess NASCAR fans are too shocked to comment! I guess talk radio does not want to talk about this case too tragic to consider. OUR NEWS MEDIA IS FUCKED UP!

editor@usatoday.com
Dear Editor, While reading your recent article on "NASCAR's drug tester disputes Mayfield's 'allergy' claim" It brought to mind the similarities/differences in the treatment of these celebrities in the two scenarios of drug use- One an olympic gold medal winning swimmer Micheal Phelps and one NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield. Phelps came out right away and apologized for being photgraphed with a bong and they still took away his kelloggs cereal contract. his reputation was trashed. and then Nascar kept what Jeremy Mayfield waqs high on-a secret untill it was revealed a month later that e was driving his 300 mph race car on METH. and still the average American has never even heard about Mayfields use of METH. Double standard? me thinks so! Where is all the outrage from the NASCAR parents?

The average American hasn't heard about this because no one gives a shit about NASCAR and Jeremy Mayfield didn't just win 8 gold metals at the last Olympics.
Got damn. The letters I've seen that you supposedly send to these editors seriously shine more negative light on the subject of marijuana legalization due to your pushy methods and blatantly biased agendas. Not to mention your incoherent, scatter-brained style. Fight the fight, but come on. |

you are a meth head? or is it oxycodone
I just smoke weed and YOU DUMBSHITS think I should do a better job fight the fight? Legalize marijuana as start The reason why crime and drugs go together is because of the prohibition of drugs creating a multi-billion dollar market. But Marijuana use should not be considered a crime. It's the same reason why sports and alcohol go together -- money! We learned the hard way about alcohol prohibition -- it does not work. The only anti-drug project that has ever worked is the education program that taught Americans the dangers of tobacco use. Newt Gingrich, Louis Armstrong, Bill Clinton, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Ross Rebagliati, Paul McCartney and millions of other Americans have all used marijuana. It is stupid to consider them criminals. Just listen to what a conservative, Reagan appointed judge has to say about this: "I am skeptical that a society that is so tolerant of alcohol and cigarettes should come down so hard on marijuana use and send people to prison for life without parole... We should not repeal all the drug laws overnight, but we should begin with marijuana and see whether the sky falls." -- Richard Posner, chief judge of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. I agree with the judge!
