Automatic Writing

I went through a phase of being stoned all day everyday and I started engaging in automatic writing. Not sure what any of this means to you but I've let people read this who thought it was trippy shit so I thought I'd share it with you guys.

you're the music to my life because i hear you all the time and every drawer i open you sit inside there like a little fairy singing everything that touches my soul and it makes me slow to say things that dance and what do you say to that somehow you're so intense in that sense because that which glows through you is sunshine glowing on me and warming me because where you are is near me its the secret that i keep from myself so deeply in that which is bigger than us so sometimes you just go without stopping and without thinking because it's glory when you wait for the surprise of finding out where it's brought you when you're foolish so it's fucking funny like that in the most melodic way sometimes we can look and laugh together since we know one another so well you're a very cool person who i'm lucky to hold hands with as we walk the road of life together i will say it every time on every line until somehow the words fall out of me since i love enough to learn you and be you who are truly what is eternal you.

sleep under the dancing stars that slip through time like sand in the softness of a voice you use to speak to me like dripping honey because it makes you stop and feel something where there was nothing there before so i cry sometimes for friends of mine who are just ghosts of something so afraid to feel they fight things so roughly they hurt themselves so what can i say to that singing like a little bird who falls to the feet of something it can drown in just going to the seas to swim in an endless breath setting your heart free but it's funny i feel nothing at the same time but with you anticipation exists with the hunger for life although i know there's things i can be slow to finish with because i know you from before incase you forgot it was once upon a dream just holding hands in the question mark shape can you explain that to me oh bold teacher of mine just reaching for infinity he tries to mock meand what it is in life i stand for in the darkness of the navy blue sky not quite bright enough to light my way like flashing neons that i need in my mind's eye to break from you to sometimes take the intensity away and fall deeply into a slower harder beat with a man who can kiss the sky and we too have things we dance around to that's right so softly madly screaming whispers in eachother's ears becoming immortal so i ask where are you going with those wings screaming sexy angel who does crazy shit with people's minds i write about you and touch you gently like i'm pretending to just be ok about you see i have a heart someplace beating the strings of time in pink lines floating around like a dancing leaf in the wind.

I always wanted to do some automatic writing. . . I just can't get the little hamster in my head to run without wondering where he's going, you know?

Interesting stuff though. I guess I do write automatically at times, just not for any great length.

I know what you mean...I'm usually like that too but smoking a lot of dro helps with that. I couldn't do any AW for the life of me if i were sober lol.

Try it verk...just let it flow. I think of anyone to do automatic writing you might say some of the most "true" things. The thread a month or so ago were I "channeled" was automatic writing.

Good stuff to the OP. I freestyle with my boys all the time. So I'm used to just letting my consciousness flow...

vanilla - I hear ya. Sometimes I take phrases I'd blurt during AW and then throw them into my lyrics. Makes for much more origional lyrics than the typical crap put out these days.

I love free form writing. As far as what I think 'automatic writing' is.... I think I've done it before because I have found things (long ago) that I had written (obviously recently... at that time) but had no recollection of :shock: . Weird feeling...lol. It makes me think of that old Beasty Boys song I used to listen to when I was a teen, "Let it flow, let yourself go, slow and low, that is the tempo"

nah i was just writing the first frusciante-esc type lyrics/ words that came to mind. you know how on niandre he out of no where rythmes you dont need it now, your heads shaped like a cow, etc etc...

i think what you are calling automatic writing is what my english prof called freewriting. we had to do it in all kinds of contexts and it takes practice to get a grip of. its useful for process writing on school things. but i enjoy writing with nothing specific in mind beforehand.
