My first ever try at poetry

this is pretty much my first try ever at actually writing poetry. i wrote it about 10 minutes ago sitting in a ridiculously long and boring meeting...no title.

I sit idle daydreaming
constructing well thought-out plans involving and containing multitudes.
Could everyone in the room possibly be this boring?
It is a certainty that they are not.
Awesome brick buildings and a blue sky
attempt to coax me out into the wild.
I'm just chillin for now though,
pretty content with who I am.
This place is filled with positivity actually.

But I'm a positivity junky,
to put it perfectly bluntly,
and I'm seraching for my next fix.
I won't be able to find it here,
constantly stifled by the dormant fear
of those who can't possibly want this.

^you're right about the imagery...i've never been as stimulated by images as i am by thoughts and sounds. but i'm not sure that i know what mundane means...could you elaborate?

Poetry is writing. Writing is about expressing ones feelings onto the sheet of paper. Fuck it what anyone says to you about it. You wrote it, it obviously meant something to you somehow......Sure you can go into detail about how they are good poems and bad ones..Let's just say that the whole "everyone's created differently thing" isn't true. Some people like certain sayings or strings of thoughts all the same. Thus making them equal......... Who cares if your poem doesn't stir the masses.. Keep writing it's the only way you'll be able to turn your honda civic into a ferrari.
