these words we hear
in our minds
during sleep
when awake

these creeping thoughts
and feelings
we know all
too well

that walk out
of other people's mouths
and scream into
our ears
with the softest
touch

this air we breathe
that we can't
sense in any way
we know its there
we know it's
coming

these invisible images
imperceptible
but knowing
they are there

what does it mean
when they invade
us and

divided and
