Respect..

Respect each peer
Respect each foe more
Attributes stand next to your conscience’s core
Respect each night
Respect each day
Actions reveal your character in every way
Respect each creature
Respect each beast
Trust unveils truth hidden behind nature’s mist
Respect each cloud
Respect each grain of sand
Mercy will offer you her helping hand
Respect each color
Respect each race
Equality speaks only of mercy and grace
Respect each river
Respect each pond
Mother Nature conveys her great wonders and beyond
Walk into each day,
With your heart soaked in hope and joy
As day fades and night endures
Respect will never destroy

May Love prevail.....

The Drum.

When I hear the drum
It reminds me of
The heart beat of my mother
Before I was born
At that time in my life
I left the place where
I lived with the Being of Light
Where I was experiencing
Such a beautiful feeling
That nothing on earth
Can compare to it
There are no words to describe it
Some Children remember it
Up to the age of six
Just ask them about it
The memory of it moves me so
When I hear the drum.........~

We must forgive. There is no option

By forgiving we liberate, not only ourselves, but also our oppressor. By forgiving we open the door to those who desire forgiveness. It is not that we believe we are superior to those people who, because of their fear, blindness and isolation did not see us as we are, their brother and sister, their father and mother, their lover, their friend.

Through forgiveness we allow the spirits of our ancestors to accomplish their mission, which began so many centuries ago on these very shores.

We offer our hands to you, America, and ask you once again to come with us along the path where the grass is still green, the air is still pure and fish can still live in the waters.

The Cedar Tree...........~

There was the pain, sadness of events,
the dreariness of the fog, damp cold a constant.

My Grand Mother would say with a laugh don't like the weather
just wait the wind will switch it.
Sure enough, the wind would kick up
the fog would be gone,
followed by sunny blue skies.

One day my Grand Mother took me to see a special tree,
we took a long hike up a rocky slope

I think what struck hope into me
was defined by a Cedar tree, gnarled, twisted,
majestic, alone, growing out of a rock
on a cliff above a spring fed lake.

Growing, thriving in unforgiving circumstances
taking everything that nature could throw at it
yet still it lived.

Beautiful in its tenacity to survive.

I shared my Grand Mother's fascination with that tree.
I thought to myself if a seed can
find what it needs out of a rock,
I guess I can too..............and you can too~
