Silly Song Poem

I pick up a pen to write a song
This is the second chorus line
I really hope it won't take long
oh no, I've got to make it rhyme

How do I start?
What should I say?
A restless heart?
No, that's cliche

Just pick a subject
make it funny, or not
I'm a radio reject
that don't mean squat

(Chorus)

I know, I can write
about going berserk
and give some a fright
that would never work

a song is a poem
set to musical notes
when people sing them
they use their throats

(Chorus)

This should be easy
But now it seems hard
I'd hate to sound cheesy
Trying to be a bard

Now I pick up my guitar
and plug it into my amp
to play quite bizarre
until my hands cramp

This song is quite ridiculous
but writing it was so much fun
with a rhyming scheme so meticulous
I've had enough, so now I'm done

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just a song about writing a song.
