Boycotting Exxon and Mobil gas for the greater good of the American people

here's another idea to show the gas companies we mean business. who knows if it will work, I suppose I can do without Exxon and Mobil gas, Citgo and BP are fine with me.

Subject: FUCK GAS
Body: This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola

Executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies

who retired from Halliburton. It's worth your

consideration.

Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to

hit

close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might

go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? We

need to take some intelligent, united action.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea. This makes

MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain

day" campaign that was going around last April or May!

The oil companies just laughed at that because they

knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by

refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience

to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever

thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can

really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at

about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently

$2.79 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the

oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us

to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at

$1.50 - $1.75, we need to

take aggressive action to

teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not

sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each

day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we

are going to see the price of gas come down is if we

hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their

gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How?

Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop

buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if

we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T

purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies

(which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not

selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their

prices. If they reduce their prices, the other

companies will have to follow suit. But to have an

impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon

and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now,

don't wimp

out on me at this point...keep reading and

I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of

people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us

send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and

those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 =

3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches

the sixth group of people, we will have reached over

THREE MILLION consumers.

If those three million get excited and pass this on to

ten friends each, then 30 million people will have

been contacted! If it goes one level further, you

guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people.

That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million

and all you have to do is send this to 10 people....

Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician.

But I am . so trust me on this one.) :-)

How long would all that take? If each of us sends

this

e-mail out to ten more people within one day of

receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be

contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you

didn't think you and I had that much potential, did

you! Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message

on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL

THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP

THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

hmm, the gas companies post record profits yet gas prices go up. Yet somehow, if we lower their profits by boycotting the products, gas prices will go down. The logic stumps me but go ahead and try.

Simple principle, if they have a glut of gasoline because no one is buying they post no profit, this could result in an ensuing price war (especially if someone at Exxon/Mobil reads some shit like this) The only drawback to this logic is that gasoline, as far as I know, doesn't have an expiration date.

BUT....

A shrewd marketing guy could use this to his advantage, if they're posting record profits why not shout out some press about being dinged by this "boycott" and lowering prices by up to $.25 a gallon. Even taking the hit of the quarter drop in price, sheer volume would increase earnings two, even threefold. Being the first to drop prices would also allow you to be the 'hold out' in the price wars to follow, having built a strong customer base by giving in to the little guy. And we as consumers are placated for another six months or so.

Boycotting Exxon and Mobil gas
for the greater good of the American people

Cannabis Fuel

HempCar visits Watertown, So. Dak. on behalf of SoDakHEMP
The Hemp Car, a promotional idea of a couple working for the legalization of industrial hemp production in the U.S., made a two-hour stop in Watertown (SD) Friday (Aug. 3, 2001).

Biomass Energy

In the early 1900s, Henry Ford and other futuristic, organic, engineering geniuses recognized (as their intellectual, scientific heirs still do today) an important point - that up to 90 percent of all fossil fuel used inthe world today (coal, oil, natural gas, etc.) should long ago have been replaced with biomass such as: cornstalks, cannabis, waste paper and the like.

Biomass can be converted to methane, methanol or gasoline at a fraction of the current cost of oil, coal, or nuclear energy - especially when environmental costs are factored in - and its mandated use would end acid rain, end sulfur-based smog, and reverse the Greenhouse Effect on our planet - right now!*

*Government and oil and coal companies, etc., will insist that burning biomass fuels is no better than using up our fossil fuel reserves, as far as pollution goes; but this is patently untrue.

Why? Because, unlike fossil fuels, biomass comes from living (not extinct) plants that continue to remove carbon dioxide pollution from our atmosphere as they grow, through photosynthesis. Furthermore, biomass fuels do not contain sulfur.

This can be accomplished if hemp is grown for biomass and then converted through pyrolysis (charcoalizing) or biochemical composting into fuels to replace fossil fuel energy products.*

*Remarkably, when considered on a planet-wide, climate-wide, soil-wide basis, cannabis is at least four and possibly many more times richer in sustainable, renewable biomass/cellulose potential than its nearest rivals on the planet - cornstalks, sugarcane, kenaf trees, ect. (Solar Gas, 1980; Omni, 1983; Cornell University; Science Digest, 1983; etc.).

One product of pyrolysis, methanol, is used today by most race cars and was used by American farmers and auto drivers routinely with petroleum/methanol options starting in the 1920s, through the 1930s, and even into the mid-1940s to run tens of thousands of auto, farm and military vehicles until the end of World War II.

Methanol can even be converted to a high-octaine lead-free gasoline using a catalytic process developed by Georgia Tech University in conjunction with Mobil Oil Corporation.

ECONOMICS ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
The book Solar Gas, Science Digest, Omni magazine, The Alliance for Survival, the Green Party of Germany, the United States and others put the total figure of our energy costs at 80% of the total dollar expense of living for each human being.

In validation, 82% of the total value of all issues traded on the New York Stock Exchange and other world stock exchanges, etc., are tied directly to:
- Energy producers such as Exxon, Shell Oil, Conoco, Con-Edison, and so forth.
- Energy transporters such as pipeline companies, oil shipping and delivery companies.
- Refineries and retail sales of Exxon, Mobil, Shell, So. California Edison, Con-Edison, etc.

Power of fossil fuel producers exposed - 7/30/1999 - ENN News
Just a few companies are responsible for most of the world's carbon pollution, according to a report released Thursday by a coalition of environmental groups.

THE OIL WAR OF 1872
Most of the independent oil producers in the Oil Region of west-central Pennsylvania were young, and they looked forward to the years ahead. They believed they would solve problems such as railroad discrimination. They would make their towns the most beautiful in the world. There was nothing they did not hope and dare. But suddenly, at the very heyday of this confidence, a big hand reached out from nobody knew where, to steal their conquest and throttle their future. The suddenness and the wickedness of the assault on their business stirred to the bottom their manhood and their sense of fair play, and the whole region arose in a revolt which is scarcely paralleled in the commercial history of the United States

NASA GISS: Tracking Carbon Dioxide Emissions
from Fossil Fuel Burning March 1997
The largest single source of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) is the burning of fossil fuel (coal, oil and gas), which currently accounts for ~80% of the annual emission of CO2 into the atmosphere. Nitrogen is also a byproduct of fossil fuel use. Fossil fuels, therefore, play a pivotal role in the global budget of carbon, acting as both a source of CO2 and of atmospheric nitrogen which can fertilize the biosphere and stimulate it to sequester carbon.

Judge Orders Cheney Records Released
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A federal judge has ordered the Energy Department to release thousands of records on Vice President Dick Cheney's energy task force, criticizing the government for moving at "a glacial pace."

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler could undercut the Bush administration's effort to keep secret the names of industry executives and lobbyists who met with the White House as it formulated its energy plan last spring.

Boulder Daily Camera -- The interesting thing about it is that it just gets in the news a little bit at a time. Never enough to be truly alarming, but enough to let you know that the relationship is progressing. If it were a he and a she about whom we were learning, we would expect a marriage in the not too distant future. It's not and we needn't - at least so they would have us believe. All we need to know is that it's not really a serious relationship, appearances to the contrary notwithstanding. It's Colombia and the United States we're talking about.

In July of 2000 Congress passed and President Clinton signed, a bill giving Colombia $1.7 billion in military aid. A variety of helicopters was delivered and Colombian army personnel were to be trained in the United States so that they could more effectively fight the drug traffickers.

In January 2001 we learned that more than 65,000 acres, out of an estimated 300,000 acres, in Colombia dedicated to growing coca, had been sprayed with glyphosate products. Farmers in the Valley of Guamuez in northwestern Putumayo said that the spraying destroyed legal crops like plantains and yucca along with coca. According to Carlos Alberto Palacios, Secretary of Human Development in the town of La Hormiga: "We believe people will go hungry. They've fumigated everything, fields and plantain rows and yucca and everything that people need to live on." He didn't mention the part of the spraying that had been successful.

D.E.A.th Deceptions

OPEC Fossil Fuels vs American Homegrown Biomass

Welcome to Reality
It's not only the high cost of gasoline requiring less dependency on fossil fools. Many things we use are based or made from fossil fools. Plastic and construction materials, poly fiber clothing, paints, pesticides, lubrication and body lotions. Half of the fossil fuel we use is imported and could be eliminated with Cannabis Fiber and other seed oil plants. Cannabis Food is the planets most nutritional food source and doesn't require the tons of fossil fools based chemicals like the 12 pounds of cereals and grains used to produce each pound of meat. Hempseed is for humans and livestock. Only the minority of Fascists in multi national corporations and government prohibitions maintain this dysfunction. Only the people can stop it. Then when the people lead, the leaders will follow.

My sentiments exactly. Send e-mails about how relegalizing hemp would be a far better solution to the high gas prices.

Yup, And cheaper housing and clothing, and what would keep illegal aliens from crossing the border and desert more than a staple hemp crop of their own? To grow for their own use or to sell. The same with the Native Americans and poverty in general. No more excuses left.

Ganja/hemp lnfolinx

That does seem a tad ridiculous, but almost true. I think they actually do bust you for not paying taxes on homebrewed fuel.

Biodiesel fuel-beware as police ensure heavy fines for tax evasion lost link

My understanding in the states is that the oil conglomerates contracted with all of the major US cities to maintain their maintenance and transportation vehicles free of charge or ridiculously cheap, with diesel and gasoline. Only with an exclusive contract stating no other sources of fuel are permitted. So like many other scams in this modern Fascism. Cities risking the free gas contract by using biomass or biodiesel or solar or hydrogen. Most places it would be called extortion. But then that's they way it goes. The smoke a joint lose your license law was blackmail jeopardizing hundreds of millions in highway funds for any state not obliging. Counties still get $165.000 (?) a year to eradicate cannabis and 99% of it is ditchweed non psychoactive hemp. With all of the fast fuds grease pits we could probably run the Military.

Unfortunately for us, these same corporate bilko artists subsidiaries sell us the drugs to "treat" the diseases from the fossil fools calamities, like adding lead to the gas. Hemp fuel doesn't have lead or sulfur, same as the Ganja doesn't have chemicals added like the corporate cigarettes to make dying from them a more "pleasant" experience. Can't make $$$ "preventing or "curing", just "treating the problem and above all, perpetuating it.

Condi Chevron and Nixxons Moguls Shell game makes millions in traffic jams and auto wrecks. $$$ in the Iraqi plastic tossed into the garbage or jerked at prowar rallies. When family farmers could grow the cellophane that will biodegrade back into the soil. Hemp cloth is stronger than cotton but doesn't make profits for the yearly 90 million pounds of crude oil based poisons sprayed from the air onto everywhere the wind happens to be blowing.

Kids and dogs and pregnant moms drinking runoff from the bible belt factory farms. Clearcutting forests providing fresh water and oxygen removing CO2 adding to global warming. More cellulose in hemp yields than dead trees for paper, without the bleach and stink and damage to the ecosystem.

Hemp's deep roots aerate the land bringing crawling things back for natural soil treatment, taking more $$$ from toxic waste fertilizer factories.

Mixing hemp seed nutrition with Ronald McBurger Kings artery cloggers and stopping the exportation of meat to countries smart enough not to do it themselves. Would lesson the amount of imported fossil fools needed and give back public property and cleaner streams and less CO2 from the 15#s of methane belched out. With a by-product of building immune systems, taking more $$$ from antibiotics and "health" treatment warehouses.

Hemp fiber is more dent resistant than sheet metal from strip mining landscapes. Ford built a car from the ground up then shelved it for Dupont and Mellon and his nephew Anslinger. Diesel's engine ran on veggies oil before fossil fools raped the so called free market. Coal tar is what they made Sacherin artificial sweetner from. Aspartame is just as bad, makes swiss cheese out of your brain, fast tracked through the FDA so Searle Drugs could make a Wallstreet killing. Subsidiary of Monsanto, while it was run by a guy named Donald Rumsfeld.

Henry Ford’s Biomass Car
* Henry Ford grew marijuana on his estate after 1937... He made plastic cars with wheat straw, hemp and sisal. (Popular Mechanics, Dec. 1941, "Pinch Hitters for Defense.") In 1892, Rudolph Diesel invented the diesel engine, which he intended to fuel "by a variety of fuels, especially vegetable and seed oils.

The media is so quick to forget Enron ethics and Cheney closed door subterfuge. Media manipulation of the masses, spinning yarns to keep more profits committing adulteration to the people and the planet. Perpetuating pseudo threats, herds the sheople in an orderly fascism. Through the never ending catch 22 maze of deception. Feeding Red Herrings, avoiding debates even while debating. Shelving medical evidence and censoring school books protecting the kids doesn't make any sense. It does make dollars for the D.E.A.th. Protecting the paychecks ignoring the truth or hiding from it by getting the "programmed news" from the same corporations selling the crude oil and chemicals and nuclear glow in the dark skin full of carcenigens. No need for illegal glow sticks at raves somehow protecting the kids from dangers of XTC.

Outlawing carrots would bring the same profits enforcing the carrot prohibition laws. But carrots aren't as versatile as Ganja and Hemp. No competition to keep from the market shelves. No need for Fascists lurking as Congressmen and chicks. Or Pat Riot Ax's stealing civil rights. No tax paid profits for Dyncorp spy gadgets or Sikorsky chopters and paychecks for CAMP and DEAth air monkeys spying in bedrooms. Or why pay for FRCn DARE Partnerships teaching kids to snitch on their parents, then end up in expensive tax paid Newt Gindridge Orphanages. Loosing the house and car to the local Sheriffs department. Moonlighting by setting up schmucks for another notch on the belt and promotion to the bigger bucks busting cannabis buyers clubs.

Dissension brings degradation and depravation. To the point of desperation. Inebriation or frustration to the breaking point, in corporate hopes of eventual incarceration for a mandatory maximum $$$ to the prison industry. While the corporate poisons bring more profits to bring more laws to nail the Ganja coffin shut. Disposable servants, what a concept.

Daykeeper Journal: Political Scene

There are dozens and dozens of ways we could provide cleaner and cheaper energy if our system was not run by the utilities, who are dedicated to big fossil fuel plants. A very simple help that we could accomplish in weeks would be installing solar panels on roofs which would handle the day's energy needs, and then just hooking into the energy grid at night.

In the 80’s the oil companies bought up all the patents for solar panels they could find, but new ways of making them are invented every day. They need a market and public encouragement.

Overview: Leaded Gasoline History and Current Situation
GM started marketing its "Ethyl" fluid in 1923. In 1924 it joined with Standard Oil (Exxon) to form a partnership called the Ethyl Corp. Since DuPont was a one-third owner of GM at the time, the three major corporations all had a hand in the development and marketing of leaded gasoline. Other companies quickly joined in, including Andrew Mellon's Gulf Oil Co.with an exclusive contract for Southeastern U.S. distribution of leaded gasoline. Mellon was Secretary of Treasury during this time and in charge of the Public Health Service, which was investigating leaded gasoline.

The public controversy started when about five workers at a grossly unsafe Standard Oil refinery went violently insane in 1924. Many others were also hospitalized. Public health experts, including Alice Hamilton of Harvard and Yendell Henderson of Yale, vehemently opposed the use of lead in gasoline as a menace to public health. Henderson called it "the single most important question in the field of public health that has ever faced the American public."

In 1925 the Public Health Service convened a conference on leaded gasoline. The structure of the conference was slanted towards industry, which may have had something to do with the influence of Andrew Mellon. At the conference, Hamilton called GM vp Charles Kettering "nothing but a murderer" for distributing leaded gasoline. Lead poisoning, as Hamilton knew, had been a familiar and dreaded "occupational disease" throughout centuries of European history.

The government's war on marijuana users has done real harm to our nation while chewing up billions of dollars every year. Americans' annual day of reckoning with the IRS on April 15 is a good time to consider where our money is going -- and where it's being wasted. With the federal budget deficit ratcheting past $400 billion per year and the White House and Congress looking at cutting spending for Medicare, education and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there is no excuse for squandering billions of dollars on programs that don't work.

You do understand that unless most people, and I mean like more then 50% who purchase gasoline, follow this plan. Their prices will fall a couple cents, causing people who are not involved in the boycott to switch to their gas. At the same time, their competitor’s prices, as they are selling much more gas, will rise, causing many other people to switch to Exxon gas. Even people who were initially part of the boycott will, especially if they can’t afford to pass it up, will usually, at some point, switch to the cheaper gas It self corrects at a rate that makes what you’re planning on doing meaningless.

Hell, even if you did get everyone to do it, most people are too poor to not buy gas that’s $.10 a gallon cheaper.

Besides, gas is a luxury item. It didn’t used to be, but we’re at the point where it should be treated as such to wean us off of it, because as it, when it goes a hell of a lot of us are going to go with it.

why do i get the feeling that this is futile? i'm all for getting a message to these assholes, but what will it take for them to listen, if they haven't by now? if Katrina and the destruction of New Orleans, oil spills, and thousands upon millions of voices haven't been effective thus far, how can i be sure a boycott will?

i guess the only way to find out is to participate, which i plan on doing, no matter what.
