Skateboarding
Anyone else here skate? I started back up like a year ago. i started when i was like 11 and quit when i was 16(not by choice, i got sent away). Im almost 20 and i realize how much i missed it. I always loved getting stoned and going out for a good skate. My current setup is a Shortys deck, Indy trucks, Luckey Bearings and Ghetto Child wheels.

i used to skate for a few years... from i was 8 until about 17-18 or so.
dont do it anymmore, but still got my decks... got a new setup a few years ago and never skated it... flip deck indy trucks (had orginally bought gk's but changed back to my indy's from before) flip sidecuts wheels bones swiss bearings not sure about hardware anymore and shortys tape i think. used to be pretty decent, dont really miss it anymore though, no friends that skate and im a lot lazier these days. would liek to get back into it some day though.

Oh for shizzle. I started when I was 13, I was pretty damn good(if I do say so myself ) in my younger years, then I started smoking/drinking/all that good stuff. My dabbling in drugs may have hindered my skating abilities, but it certainly hasn't stopped me completely.
Current set up is a Powell blank, tensor trucks, ricta wheels, speed demon bearings. |

Drugs are less of a deterrent to skating when you have a nice sturdy longboard beneath your feet. Pretty much why I converted completely from my shortboard. I also realized that i'd never be doing nose varials onto 15 stairs so the shortboard didn't really offer me any advantages.

I just love the old school flavor of a longboard and personally i get higher off carving down a hill and throwing some slides. im about to rant about some other shit too....so be warned. Street skating has taken way too much precedent and has turned skateboarding from do it yourself fun into "you have to be a god to do the hot new tricks". Meh, just my .02 cents, but thats what I attribute the slump in skateboarding too. When was the last time you saw a trick on the front of a popular skate mag that you could actually just pick up and try?
