Mikey take it from a professional gardener. You have to make it a game or something to properly weed. I try to use it as a patience building time. I look at a small square and weed it, very methodically going down the bed or row, like picking out the thing that doesn't match the shape of the rest of the garden, slowly, like a meditation, feel the roots and gently pull them out so you get all the ends, Then you won't have to go back and re weed as often. Try to look at it as a good time to think or not think and just be with the weeds. Two summers ago I have to weed a bed that was 2km long and 6 ft wide, I felt like it would never end, but it did and I had alot of fun talking with the people I worked with.

I hope you find the patience and mental frame to enjoy a simple and annoying necessity. You are really making some veggies happy !

and Sage, thanks for the kind words, but some weeds never end, if you pull them out by the roots.

Horse Tail especially. And when your staring at 4-6 acres of farm with neat square fruit and veggie patches every where you know it'll never end.

It's just that it never ends, when I weed apple patch I know I'll be weeding here again in 2 weeks.

i even lied to my boss this week saying that all week I can only work half days cause theres no one to watch my son after 12:30 so i leave at noon, i feel so bad.

I think weeds are a good metaphore for life. You will be there in 2 weeks doing it all over again and it's hard to get to the root of it. (horsetail especially

) But we can choose how we accept it or don't. I hope you find the enjoyment in it and don't get too bummed out.

thanks sage, and you know what I'm really trying to make the best of it. I think I'm coming to terms with that fact I'm just lazy and I hate laziness. I mean I should consider myself MAD lucky just for having this job.
its so hard to get a job on the island unless u wanna wash dishes, and on top of that i work for the nicest people on the nicest farm it should be a godsend but i just seem to hate it, i hate myself for it.

anywho today is my thursday on thursdays is my one day a week i work at the marina doing the beer order and produce (SYSCO!!!!) orders.

Well have a good one Mikey and remember things change and go back and forth, just don't be scared to leave that window of sway, be open to the possabilities, of good and bad. In the hard times if we can must the introspection we can learn alot about how we cope.

Stay mindful of times through your day that you don't find it bad, or times when you don't think of yourself as experiencing laziness or hate. These are just passing things not part of your Being.

Good Saturday morning to you all. I am working part of the day today and then helping a friend move to our building. Hopefully my nutty foreman 'lets' me go so I don't have to walk off

Because dang it I said it yesterday and he was all, yea yea we'll be done....except this guy usually takes an extra 2-3 days for a few hours of work, which he thinks is simple.....He's the simple one.
