The sun is up and I am frustrated with life to no end and I have only been awake for a matter of hours...
Everyone is an asshole and in my way, trying as hard as they can to fuck up my flow. No one is cooperating and I really haven't left the house yet. I have my coffee and my tuna salad and I'll be damned if this attitude is going to run my day. Now, if anyone wants to bug me for no good fucking reason, I'll be in my happy place meditating. So make damned sure your problem is significant enough to warrant pissing me off before you come bothering me with it!

Actually, that was a quite helpful rant there...
Perhaps that is my happy place and how I meditate. Hmmm. Ponderous man, ponderous...

I am awake and alive and in good spirits!
Yesterday I was expecting my very first unemployment check and instead I got a letter saying there was an error on my form and to please call to straighten this out so I did... I called the number and a very polite young womans voice said she was sorry that the system was receiving more calls than it could handle and I should try back later. Now, sitting next to me is a good friend and former mortgage broker whose new field of expertise is navigating the EDD, he told me that the state initiated this phone system so the caller wouldn't be greeted by a busy signal, he also learned that it costs an average of $.05 every time the phone plays the recording to say the phone system is busy even though AT&T will let you use their busy tone for free. Ricky told me to just try back right away if you get the young lady but to make sure you hold on if you're connected to the more mature sounding recorded womans voice as she is the on hold queue and will get you into the system. She answered and she did, she let me know that my wait time was approximately four minutes and told me about the wonders of online inquiries, unfortunately I needed to speak with a live human. I got to speak to that live human, his name was Joel. Joel answered and promptly told me that he would be unable to access any of my file information and would be unable to assist me in any changes to the account... So now Joel, let me get this straight here, just for my own info. I called and got a recording to tell me the phone was busy, then I called and got a recording that said to hold on and press this button or that button to be assisted with my claim and once I did that I was connected to a guy who says he really can't help me with anything, but he can take a message to have someone who is able to access my account and make the necessary changes call me back in three to five business days. Believe me, it sounds absurd here in print but live it just once and the ridiculousness will scar you for a good long time. So, today I am going to get back on the phone and take Ricky's advice that indeed the human answering machine can help assist you if you say the magic words or stroke it's dick just right or whatever, it can be done. So my task today is to jump into a big pool of stupid and tread water with the ignorant/indifferent and try not to hold anyone under until they die. I'm coffeed up, lit up and ready for the battle of wits with my giant, yet unarmed opponent. Wish me luck.

For now the jist is my Wife is flying back to PA to see her Uncle Doug who hasn't eaten in several days and has checked himself out of hospital and now has a hospice nurse visiting. We spent a lot of time talking last night about things and I said 'Go'. She made it happen. I shared this news this morning at the Centre and asked for prayers. When someone asked if I was shocked, I said the only shock is to the pocket book... but that it's okay, more money always comes when we need it. Before I left, a man who I have grown close to in a short time, who works there as well, asked me to walk to the bakery with him since I was heading out myself. So I did. He said, 'I have to stop in the bank for a second would you wait'.... 'Sure' I didn't think anything of it, I figured he wanted to talk some more. When he came out he handed me an envelope and said, 'I hope this helps. I said 'Ken I hope there isn't too much in here.' He said 'It's how I can help.' I thanked him graciously and gave him a big hug. And thanked him again and again.... It's hard to accept gifts sometimes. We've always been good about passing on our blessings to others, but it still feels funny to get money from people. A metaphor I've heard once said, 'We should be open to giving and receiving because we all have good karmas to build and bad karmas to atone for.' We'll I guess it was our turn to get.... and given our circumstances right now I was happy to have some sandwich money for my Wife's travels. As I walked down the street I opened the envelope and started to tear up. Ken had given me $100 for my Wife's trip. I couldn't believe a man who I have only known for 2-3 weeks would open his heart and wallet like this. I stopped and said a prayer of thanks and called my Wife. It's such a blessing of hope to know there are caring compassionate people in this world and today I'm thankful for what I received. Friday I'm going to make some bread for Ken. Today we broke 'bread' and shared communion of the heart. Today Ken was the blood and body of Jesus before me, living up to the giving of self, in a small to him, but LARGE to us, way. I thought this would be a good metaphorical offering, until I can feed him again Ken lives alone and says he doesn't enjoy cooking much, so I know he doesn't make bread and maybe I'll get him a bowl full of this chili in the crockpot right now I know he's not the type that wants anything in return, but today I he really renewed my Spirit with his gift.Tonite my Wife leaves till Tuesday. I hope her journey is good and that she gets what she needs from this time spent with Doug. I'll make sure I check in earlier tomorrow. Hope you didn't worry.

That is awesome SageTree. Wow the seemingly limitless cruelty perpetrated by man truely is balanced by the boundless generosity and compassion of good people like Ken. I'm glad you got to share something like that. Gives me hope man.

My day began with a quiet, peaceful bong rip between friends. There was Marley playing in the background, and the sun had just began to peek above the horizon. I got some cleaning done, did some homework, then went to Biology class. Now I get to sit here, enjoying some hash. Life is good as long as you don't expect too much.

Well wouldn't you know it...
I come in, ready to battle the dark side of the unemployment game, fully expecting to leave battered and broken and you know what? I was bitterly disappointed. I dialed the number three times, got the sweet young recorded voice twice, third time I was into the queue. Mrs. Dhillon answered and asked what the nature of the call was, I very politely explained my situation in a brief manner since I figured I was going to be telling this story a whole bunch of times and wanted to keep it short and simple. She asked for my SSN, asked if she could put me on hold while she investigated the reason behind why I had to call. Two minutes later she came back and told me where the error was (my fault too damn it) and proceded to rectify the situation right there on the spot. Shit. I am grateful to the lady for being so quick and helpful, I even told her so since they supposedly they record the calls and I think good work should be recognized as well, but damn if i wasn't ready to go tooth and nail only to have it all work out so well so quickly. I've got to get to the county hall of records here pretty soon, maybe they'll be exactly what I'm expecting, one can only hope. Good Morning All!!!!
