Unhappy Help Me Regain Faith In Punk

Please for the love of god help convince me that punk is not dead.

When I went to warped tour this year for the first time in a few years I was devastated at what had become of the scene that I loved. Sure there were a few decent bands, but the sheer amount of pure shit was overwhelming to say

The last album I bought was NOFX - Wolves In Wolves' Clothing, and it was pretty decent.

Recommend me some Punk/Ska/Hardcore albums that have came out in the last few years that will hopefully regain hope that punk will live on.

Dude. Punk's Not dead.

It's in a Coma. It's family wants to pull the plug.
There's close to no good punk around anymore. Plenty of hardcore, if you're into that sort of thing (im not.)

Grindcore's descended from punk, check out Nasum.

Punk has been dead for at least the last 15 years, before I was even old enough to get into it. Sorry to break it to you.

Another thing, this is the first year you noticed overwhelming pure shit at Warped?

It's alright man, you can still enjoy your own music on your own terms, whether the music is actually "dead" or not. Because to you, listening and remembering, the music is just as alive as it ever was.

The way I think about music is alot like the way I think about my childhood. I can remember the games and smile with satisfaction at their memory, I just can't go out and play anymore (not like back then). It's all good.

Tiger Army are an OK new(ish) punk band.

Although they're really classified as Rockabilly...

Obviously in a few years when people are sick of the squeaky clean music punk will be reborn.

punk sucks now in my opinion. thats why i am listening to more metalish genres. i dont like the punk culture anymore either. i used to be into it hardcore but it just got more and more lame. little kids, mtv, hot topic, punk rock is a style now. im seeing punk rock chip ahoys on tv and little bratz punk rock dolls. its fucking stupid.

^thats what has always sucked about punk, you get losers like me sitting around with my friends when fucked up debating which bands are "real" punk, which in itself is elitist and gay..

even though one of my fav songs is "It's My Job To Keep Punk Rock Elite"

Anti-Flag?!
No wonder you've given up hope on punk.

Antidote is a good street-punk band from Sweden (I believe), Funeral Dress...and there are always the classics to lean back on like The Dead Boys, Charged GBH, Agent Orange, Gun Club, pre-Rollins Black Flag--I could go on forever.
