Break From Marijuana For Sports Season?

Who here has ever taken a break from smoking for an entire season becuase of sports?

Besides the fact that I don't blaze often (not even once a month if you average everything out) I'm making sure that I won't blaze for the entire Cross Country season to keep my lungs in top shape, etc. (whcih is very important if you know XC, you know.. running haha).

Now I know I will be perfectly able to do this (well basically but more on that later) becuase I don't need to blaze all the time and my season is only from late August - beginning of November .. but .. would one time really hurt?

I really feel like it's important to not smoke during the season becuase I want to be in the best shape I can be for the entire season but it's just this Saturday is the perfect time to have a session at my house becuase my parents are gone and my friend just got a new bong + headies and a couple of my buddies wanna try it for the first time.

Do you think just smoking that day would affect me in any way? I have a race Tuesday which I'll need to be healthy for. (If it makes any difference I'm going to be running about 7 miles that morning for practice [hopefully the smoking afterwards won't screw up the "progress" I made from workign out], Sunday a break, Monday a light practice, and Tuesday a big race)

Like I said I can def go the three months or w/e without blazing (that's not the point) I'd just like to know if doing it just this Saturday would hurt drastically (it prob would a little?) especially for the race on Tuesday. Thanks guys!

it takes months of daily smoking to impair pulmonary function.

thc is good for breathing, smoking is bad they kinda cancel out though I'd say the effects from smoking are a little stronger than the good from thc. But get a vaporizer, no smoke equals only good.

If there are no hooks attached they will follow you around in groups and beat up people who look at you funny.

Obviosuly, yes I know this but would just smoking that one day slightly impair me, even if it set me back just little bit for a couple days? That's all I really care about.

Nah, you should be fine. GL on your buddies first times, if they don't feel much at first, have 'em take a break, and have another session later, they should feel it then. Thats what I do with all my friends that are first-timers. GL on the XC, it sounds like your pretty good.

no, if smoking once could impair you to any measureable degree than those of us who had smoked several times a day every day for extended periods would all be dead right now.

note: i am not saying smoking isn't horribly bad for you, all im saying is you have to do it quite a bit before the affects begin to show up.

most all the best athletes at my high school smoked. The star athlete in the school, we'd smoke before his basketball games. He'd go out there and dominate.

If you have the fortitude, marijuana doesn't negatively effect your performance.

Oh man I could only imagine how tight it would be running through the woods and being high as fuck as the same time! I would only be worried about my heart rate since it seems to increase while smokin the ganja

xc muthafuckas! i ran for my first 2 years of highschool untill i went into a nightschool program. this was before i smoked, one of my friends who ran often though hed toke whenever he wanted. i think he kept it sober for the races though. me and him still get high and go for runs every now and then.seince you smoke so little i doubt it would effect you much. i just wouldnt get high before your race or a hard practice.long easy distance is fun high though, running through the beutiful trees, over the bridge, with no real destination. ah those were the days. whats your PR bro? mine was 18.06

I ran varsity XC all four years of high school. I smoked before and after practice, before and after invitationals/duel meets. I still continue do so but not competitively and I am a daily smoker. It all just depends on you.
