how much to tip the pizza guy?

i am near to the place so its not a long or difficult drive, but there is snow.
the order comes to $31.80 and i have two twenties. do you think it would be alright to ask him for 5 dollars change?

i wouldn't tip less than 3.18, or more than 6.36 unless he was really quick about the delivery.

Yes thatd be fine Veda if you live close. If theres ice on the road, that's a different story. That stuff is just dangerous. 10% tip isn't too bad.

I'd give him 5 bucks

I'd also invite him in for a few bong hits if he looks chill

That's a shitty tip considering tips are how he makes his living. I always tip 5 the pizza guy 5 bucks. He brought the food to your front door.

(yes, i used to deliver pizzas)

It would be "alright". Personally, as a pizza delivery driver, i would be hoping for at least 4 bucks in the snow, no matter what the difference.

anything under 3 is bullshit, 3 is kinda cheep, 4 is good, 5+ is great

HP is right, i persoanlly wouldnt tip less than 5 bucks. I've been there and a 5 dollar tip really makes a driver feel good.

It doesn't matter how far you live from the shop and % of the bill has nothing to do with the tipping unless the order is $50+

I've delivered pizzas too...but i wasn't greedy. If someone lives within walking distance I don't expect to get more than a few dollars if that. You make minimum wage + tips. Being a delivery driver isn't a tough job and is usually pretty fucking relaxed, most are pretty greedy IMO.

You don't always make minimum wage- it's like being a waitress. Not to mention having to pay for your own gas....

Where I live, you make minimum wage+ as a waiter too..and here they pay for your gas. So here expecting 5+ dollars for every house is a little greedy.

Lots of places provide vehicles for you to drive. Yes they do, they pay by the mile. LoL get all defensive huh?

If you had to pay for your gas, wear and tear, and had to drive far and in a confusing place I could understand wanted a decent tip. In some places that just isn't the case.

Just jealous I suppose. I don't know of any places in Chicago that still provide a vehicle for their drivers. I remember how dominos had company cars and a 30 min guarantee when I was a kid, but now they have neither.

Its not greedy. You no doubt get a bunch of cheepskates per night that only give you 1-2 dollars. Those awsome ppl who give you 5+ dollars help make up for that bullshit.

Just a tip for all you non drivers. Every driver knows who the good tippers are and who the bad tippers are. When the order is ready and its for one of the good tippers, the drivers fight to take the order and generally deliver it first. Its the opposit for the bad tippers. I've left plenty of pizzas sitting on top of the oven after taking every other order i could before that one.

If you want good service, tip well. You'll get your food first.

^^
Its 100% true and that kind of shit pisses me off. Bad management IMO.

Also if you plan on working for a pizza place as a driver, find places that don't charge a delivery fee. That's just asking to get stiffed on tips.
