chainsaw first time
its several hours later and my hands still feel weird. the guys said it goes away after a while and that i should not be a pussy. still, it feels really weird. i am happy to not be a lumberjack. or lumberjill.
if anyone knows bout chainsaws , how long does the jiggly hand sensation last? |

It doesn't take that long.. Most saws have vibration shocks/boots so that they don't leave you with that sensation..
Some of the small to mid size saws don't have the shock absorbers though..

my hands usually work in a kitchen. the big saws were too heavy for me so i used a medium one, but it vibrated a lot, like if you took the chain and bar off you could mount it to the bottom of a kitchen chair and go for a ride haha

it wasnt really that bad, just my imagination exaggeration
this is possibly a great idea tho. there's not a single vibro-chair on the market that is powered by two-stroke engine |

your chainsaw may need the idle adjusted or to be tuned up or it could be toast. if wearing a good pair of gloves doesn't help then its pretty much going to be painful
i have worked with 2 stroke engines every day for the last 3 summers so i know what you are talking about. at one golf course we had a weedwhip that was so bad i couldn't drive afterwards. my boss said i was being a wimp, so me and everyone who had used it recently told him to do the edge around one bunker and see what he thought. he got halfway around before he dropped the thing and went to phone the company to order new ones.

V, as Capn' said get yourself a GOOD pair of gloves, and ask the HFIC if the Chainsaw is tuned and lubed right.
Any of you other guys ever hear of 'white finger syndrome'? That could be a great name for a band. but unfortunately it's a debilitating condition. Read on... http://www.wsib.on.ca/wsib/wopm.nsf/Public/160105 HTAM

Yep sandman's got it right.
I never used a chainsaw for.. like a good reason.. but in my cutting shit up days I found that you couldn't hold too hard because it vibrates right into the bone.
