lol i filmed rows and rows of those. part of the tradition of the marching is anti catholicism. They always burn ethergys of the pope and crosses. They even have a guy dress up as the pope and people just get to throw firecrackers at him. there were also big signs all over that said 'No Popery'

very weird, but very cool. Im gonna sign up to march in the precession next year!

this is like the anti guy fawkes - its a celebration for a totally different reason. i really wanna upload some video, but since i was filming for my mates documentary - i dont think he's be too pleased with me leaking footage on the interwebz. its gonna be sick though. the finished film is proabbly gonna be black and white, and all dark and moody etc. ill post it when its done in several months time.

That was the intention of its creation at least. Course nobody knows this because people learn their history through movies these days.

anyway one of the whole things is there are the 5 martyrs, who were protestants that were burnt at the stake at the hands of catholics, so i guess its kind of justified?

its not that big of a deal really, just an eccentricity - thats the way i see it anyways

nah, they have these different bonfire societies that march on the night, theres 6 of them i think, but they all have different colour schemed jumpers, so black and white, yellow and black, i forget the other ones.

These are all stills from the video i took, hopefully itll look nice in the finished film
