it's called a lateral line in biology. It's a little bit like a human ear in that it's an organ that's designed to detect pressure changes. The fish doesn't use it to hear though, so much as to 'see' the water around it. waves and movements in the water generated by other organisms hit the lines and the fishyfish knows there's either predator or prey nearby.

some fish have incredibly sensitive lateral lines that can detect movement at quite long distances...

Dear Flamming Nun,

How many sides does a circle have?

^Well he kinda got you there, Spank.

To add to that, the shortest distance between 2 points is not always a straight line either.

Looking at the picture again, I see the sun on the horizon and the clouds above it as the 'vanishing point' which is where lines of perspective meet. The vanishing point doesn't always have to be in the center of the picture, or even level in the picture. In fact, there could be multiple vanishing points in the same picture.

In this case, the clouds about the sun on the horizon are shaped like an inverted triangle, with the 'tip' being the vanishing point.

We were always taught two, inside/outside. I think it's one of those thing's thats more down to personal preference though.

And Spanky, whatever works for you... Personally I'd focus more on his head relative to the line of the Horizon, since it's his standing on a boat, rather than the waters edge, which is making the picture look confusing to those with simple minds.

Back on topic, someone post boobz.

the reason the pic looks shopped is because there is light coming from the camera and from behind the figure.

in photography you are supposed to have the light source BEHIND you. so because the sun is in front of the camera, and the camera used a flash the flash neutralized the light from behind and so he just "blends in" with the background. hence it looks funny to some people.

not to mention the giant ass fucking salmon.
