you retired Zolt?

My dad is around your age, maybe a little older, and lived a super crazy drug fueled life. Has tons of great stories too. He wrote a memoir of sorts at one point, and parts of at least one or two novels. Would write more, but the dude unfortunately has to work every day still, so he never has the time to do it anymore. We are trying to get him some aid of sorts so he doesnt have to work himself to death, and i hope he starts writing out more of his stories if that happens.

You crazy old fucks lived through some shit for sure lol. Definitely a pretty crazy time period to be alive.

Put your book together man. Id read it.

Yeah, I'm retired, fb...was in the newspaper business (production dept) down here & retiring couldn't have come at a better time. Newspapers are going the way of the dinosaur & even our small town news is on the compo. Technology has happened so quickly. I remember when I worked at the Rocky Mtn News in Denver (Transportation dept = Teamsters ), I'd have to heat my Stouffer's Lasagne for 55 minutes, as microwaves weren't available yet.
Can't your dad get S.S.? I started on S.S. Disability when I fucked-up my back at work here (thank goodness it was at work), but I also have a nice IRA I'm forced to start withdrawing. I appreciate your interest in my book, fb, as it's a pretty crazy ride. I'm still amazed that I'm not dead or incarcerated. When I get motivated to put my thoughts in order, you can be 1 of the 1st to check it out. Lots of things that I can't believe I made it through pretty much unscathed.

I really love Mac Dre and yesterday while picking up my friend from the Tenderloin ( impoverished district loaded with crack heads and junkies ) I noticed a group of black dudes with a ghetto blaster giggin to "Get Stupid" by Mac Dre

Sadly I was on my way to a party and couldn't stop.

I'm ecstatic hyphy never dies.

Before he died was Mac cultivating any other artists or has anyone stepped up to continue the movement?

Or was hyphy just that one moment in time?

I ask because I really liked all of his shit, I lived in norcal when he was really big and everyone was all about it. I moved out of state and haven't really heard much about it.

No one makes it anymore. The ones during his time/ after are Keak Da Sneak, Mista Fab, and E 40. I'm sure there's some others out there.

I learned about him during HS the year after he died. I still remember all the wiggers wearing Mac Dre tall tees lol. Most kids from my generation and area at least know the chorus to the Thizzle Dance.

yeah Keak is dope, haven't heard much Mista Fab and 40 wadda has been around forever but got huge right round the time Mac was blowing up post death.

Guess there are enough classics from that era that we don't really need any coattail riders.

Now it is all about Trap down there right?

Yeah it's pretty poplular. The other day we had a BBQ in the park and there was a kids B day near us and I heard the kids who looked to be around the 13-16 range playing some trap and EDM.

I'm a big fan of trap and a few of my friends are, but there's a huge diversity of music out here. One of my friends group is into the more chilled out electronic music which I usually can't stand in a club environment. I can dig the mellow stuff as a sunrise set at a festival but around 10- 3 AM I want my bangers

Cool

tattoo artistry & technology has progressed immensely in the last decade or so.

at one point in time, i thought i hated ink altogether since a majority of folks i'd spotted w/visible tats had trashy taste in imagery(i.e. tweety bird in gangsta threads, big ugly tribals, playboy bunny tramp stamps & other brand-logo ink, saggy leathery ol titty w/discolored rose)and not to mention the prevalence of professional tattooers w/subpar technical ability.

semi-sorry if i insulted anyone's dated fad ink. didn't mean to rub it in.
