thats essentially what happened. she thinks I quit, and I don't want to tell her that I haven't because that would be admitting that I've been lying to her for months, and I don't want that. but still, the whole thing makes me happy. she so rarely finds happiness in her life that I'm glad she could find a little in weed.

its just i see these people and they look like after all there time in the workplace they never accomplished any wealth. they may see me as more determined to go after it than themselves and feel as though i don't fit in.

Nursing, for example, they want you to clock out the second your shift is over. They don't encourage over time.
There are certain jobs where over-achieving causes great occupational hazards.

overtime does not equate to over achieving. I mean, if you do your job well, and you take the path of least resistance with your employer, no reasonable employer would ever FIRE you. That simply doesn't make sense. I've managed a kitchen or two in my time I as I have said before I canned everyone who didn't give a shit about the job. I can't see any logical reason for canning your good employees.
