Waiting for a leader of one of our allies to chastise our country's gun laws instead of sending condolences. The Donald would lose it.

"It's a mental health issue!" says the party that has repeatedly tried to strip mental health care coverage from the ACA.

It's actually a legitimate argument, if only they'd maintain some consistency. They're lack of it just shows they don't actually care.

I just read that he's on life support and the report of his death was premature.

This is a screenshot of a debug rendering of my current work in progress, my greatest attempt at computer modeling a physical scenario yet. When all is said and done I will have some 100 million data points to do analysis. If my approach garners results that agree with experimental results I get mega brownie points

I always feel out of my element discussing this because I’m not American or know exactly their gun laws but I also don’t really buy into the Bowling for Columbine narrative that I can just throw down a hundred dollars and walk out ten minutes later with a M-16. I also find it strange that Americans who complain about how easy it is to get a gun are usually people who have never owned a gun before. It’d be nice to talk about gun control but most of what I see is people just shouting the buzz words gun control without really explaining what they suggest.

Gun ownership isn't the problem. Being able to shoot off that many rounds in that short of time is. And I don't want to hear about being able to protect ourselves from government tyranny. There is no way some shitty little militia is going to defend itself against our military and militarized police force. Those wannabe Rambos would wet themselves if they were confronted with a black helicopter shooting M50 rounds at them. Having a gun to defend yourself and having hunting rifles is as far as it should go.

Where do they measure firewood in liters? Is that a euro thing? That's like 1/6 cord. Of birch too? Is that all of your fuel for the winter?

yes birch. this is the amount i estimated i would need until mid december. probably i miscalculated but i would rather leave a bit here than run out.

firewood for larger amounts is measured in favn which is 4m long x 1m high x 0.6m deep. for smaller amounts you buy bags of various sizes, most commonly 40/60/80L or large bags of 1m3 or 1.5m3 for non-stacked firewood.
