i feel like those things are actually connected. when you think you want/need someone usually it leads to codependence and bad partner choosing because you don't even have all your own shit together before you enter the relationship. specifically in terms of knowing what your long-term values/goals are. this is followed inevitably by a breakup when you realize that the person you choose is not healthy for you, but also since you are used to being in a relationship you are so devastated to be alone and seek out another/any person to be in another bad codependent/bad-fitting relationship again (and the cycle continues). there are plenty of such partners available in any location. people who are single and eventually come to be ok with themselves are a good match for other people who are also single and ok with themselves because you can build a healthy non-codependent relationship while keeping your autonomy and being true to yourself. the problem is that these single people are generally complacent in looking for a partner, because, while love is nice, it is not required for survival and can easily interfere with your autonomy by sucking time/energy/freedom from you. the best thing to do (100% in my opinion pls don't hurt me) is to be yourself and love yourself while being open to the possibility of a partner and open to people you meet throughout your normal days, without spending too much of your time and energy seeking any warm body to lay down next too at night.

Not really a counterpoint, but I have found that most of my relationships, though they 'failed", have helped me figure out in what ways I dont have my shit together, what kind of person is actually good for me, etc.

Also I think it can be fun to persue somebody with focused intent, so long as its not out of desperation and becomes some kind of obsession

of course without failed relationships you would never be ready for an actual relationship

this is why everyone thinks teenagers in love are hilariously misinformed

True.
I myself have been in two failed relationships which weren't really relationships since I was married.

After that and getting sober I put myself through 14 weeks of mental health and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Learned a lot.

probably need to learn a lot more.

Ok I think I may have my idea for my physics experiment:

1. Create 3+ homemade solar cells that use distinct materials (incl the one CC suggested using raspberry juice... maybe will also build one with blackberry juice)
2. Test the response using artificial light sources with varying spectral identities, ie with intensities in distinct frequencies, to determine the photon frequencies most favored by each of the solar cells
3. Design and engineer a device that takes white light, splits it, and then distributes the different bands to the solar cell which responds best to that band (hopefully they end up having distinct enough behaviors)
4. Record increase in efficiency, perform in depth analysis, produce flawless report, get an A

edit: this is still fairly preliminary. Already since typing this I've thought of a few cool ways to expand the experiment. I am gonna be BUSY this semester and I can't wait!

Wow I get insanely angry when I'm withdrawing from nicotine, haven't had any weed for several days, and someone tells me we're gonna meet at a specific time and then doesn't show up or answer their phone and leaves me hanging.

I have not felt anger like that for some time...

CC could you re-link me or remind me of the title of that paper you showed me here earlier about using raspberry juice?

The link is still there but it's dead now

Here's post:

Random...

I did find the title of it "Photovoltaic characteristics of natural light harvesting dye sensitized solar cells"

for some reason the resource at school doesn't seem to have it so I'll try to find it on scihub later - I'm wary about going on that website on the school servers.

It's going to be 0C on Monday! Get your socks and sandals out!

What is the end purpose of this project?
As in.. what will it do do human kind?
Curious
Unable to understand scientific lingo.
Sounds delicious though.
