i am a serious propenent that marijuana can help with making art and it expands your creativity so it should be interesting to see how his flicks are now that hes a stoner.

i was gonna say that. i think he did a great job writing and directing that. i think the market is saturated with kevin-smith style humor right now, and i do think that other names like judd apatow can compete with him and maybe even make a better movie overall. its been a long time since clerks lets be honest.

Two largely different beasts really.

On one hand JASB:SB was just one giant stroke job for all of the KS nerds that got all the little in jokes and on another level it was just a normal movie that anyone could walk into and watch and laugh.

Clerks 2 on the other hand was the sequel to what is lauded as his pinnacle and something all his other works are compared against, and to be honest I thought he did a damn fine job of trying to get there, again better than I expected.
