revs gonna like this one:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/katla-..._b_309496.html With all this new-found free time, Smith picked up smoking weed on a regular basis, something he hasn't done traditionally, and tried to rebuild his life at the same time. "People seem kind of surprised by it, but I've never been a big stoner. I wrote stoner movies but you can watch those movies and tell, or at least I can now that I am a stoner, it's like a user-friendly version of a stoner,'" Smith explained. "It started as sort of a midlife crisis thing but it wasn't that. It was sort of me saying 'You can't write like that anymore Kevin, you can't write like a fucking slacker, you can't write dick and fart joke movies anymore because it's too easy. Now you do it in your sleep and that's not where good films come from.'"

have you ever directed a movie? on WEED?
i am a serious propenent that marijuana can help with making art and it expands your creativity so it should be interesting to see how his flicks are now that hes a stoner.

i was gonna say that. i think he did a great job writing and directing that. i think the market is saturated with kevin-smith style humor right now, and i do think that other names like judd apatow can compete with him and maybe even make a better movie overall. its been a long time since clerks lets be honest.

Terry, it's a movie buddy. A comedy at that. That was kinda the idea.
Also Clerks 2 was good for what it was. Beat my expectations at least. |

Two largely different beasts really.
On one hand JASB:SB was just one giant stroke job for all of the KS nerds that got all the little in jokes and on another level it was just a normal movie that anyone could walk into and watch and laugh. Clerks 2 on the other hand was the sequel to what is lauded as his pinnacle and something all his other works are compared against, and to be honest I thought he did a damn fine job of trying to get there, again better than I expected. |
