I totally agree. Saying you eat meat because wolves eat meat or lions would eat humans is a pretty weak argument. Like all of a sudden we are looking to primitive animals for advice on how to live our lives?

I'm trying to say there is a difference between hunting for survival and making a conscious choice to eat meat when other sources of food are available. I'm not even saying you shouldn't be eating meat, I'm just saying let's not pretend we are in the same situation as lions or cavemen fighting for survival.

we take survival for granted and that is our inevitable doom.

our ancestors also hunted many species to extinction.

what homewrecker said is that trying to justify eating meat now because our ancestors did it is retarded. our ancestors did alot of stupid shit. modern day conservatives try to justify certain things because our ancestors did it, which is retarded.

but if you want to learn from history, learn from easter island, which is the classic example of a entire civilization destroying itself by carelessly abusing the environment.

some ancient african and ancient indian civilizations did not eat meat. the indian jain culture has its roots in early immigration from africa. the oldest images of buddha/mahavira are african in features...so only some peoples developed along that route.

oh, and i wanted to say, if a violent-type animal attacked me, and i could not successfully flee from it, i would use self defense--although minimum force--and possible inflict serious injury.

technically if people occasionally killed an attacking dangerous animal, i wouldnt have a problem with them eating it wearing it, or whatever. i dont thinks its good for you....i think it is gross to cut open the stinking carcass of an animal corpse and eat it etc....and i think there would be knarly vibes on it...but that would be the one case when i think it would be okay.

it would have to be serious danger tho...

(ted, dont make me come over there...[tasteful])
