Aniaml Rights: The Meat Your Meat Video

This video will not play (or show up at all) in the other thread anymore. not sure what is wrong with it--tried to fix without success--so I will post it here and see if it works. The vid is only about 13 minutes long, narrated by Alec Baldwin, and intended to show the often appalling conditions of the meat industry and factory farming. Of course this info has important relevance to concerns of both heath issues and moral ones.

Hope some find it interesting. All [relevant] comments and reactions to the movie are welcome!

i'm a vegetarian but i dislike it when vegetarians act morally superior because they don't eat meat. its an individual choice and i would expect that people want to make it on their own in the same way i choose not to eat meat and you choose to be vegan.

meat can be obtained from more places than just factory farms. local farmers markets are good for free range organic meat.

i think its more about the animals, guiding one's karma, health, and cultivating personal and general qualities of nonviolence than posturing as superior. some people genuinely do care about animals and even view them as equal in value and rights with people. some cultures even view other animals and beings as different types of 'people': ie. air-people [birds], field-people [cows, bison, deer etc...], water-people [fishes]...

the exploitative treatment of animals is a lot like slavery, and in some ways even worse. so imagine if someone said they dislike people acting superior because they dont own/use slaves. To enslave, rape, and kill slaves is their personal choice and they should be able to choose for themselves...includi ng the right to enslave rape abuse and kill your mom, sister, or granny if they happened to get captued by the wrong dudes.

these sources still imprison, brand, abuse, castrate, drug, use the same slaughter processes/facilities, and are little better than factory farming due to crowding and lax regulations. free range can mean little more than a tiny yard and a small door through which animals cannot even make it out often due to crowding. check it out if you like. organic cows are still abused horribly, artificially inseminated, forcible separated from their babies for veal, and milked by machines so long heavily that their infected udders also emit quantities of pus and blood into your organic milk.

STAIRWAY: sorry im currently unable to view your posts, maybe omeone else can respond

i had a reply mostly typed out but i am pretty sure i am not going to be able to make my point to you. it is stupid to start a thread expecting discussion and then ignoring half of the replies. you might be relatively new here but that type of thing makes you look like a jackass. if you want to have a more serious discussion we have other forums that would be more suited for that, because it doesn't seem to me that you can maturely handle any criticism.

We are meant to eat animals. Why else would they be made of meat? Duh!

-Hedons

PS - Can vegans eat animal crackers?

You turn into one big vagina if you become a full blown vegetarian... the onset begins slowly with one or two vagina's popping up on your body but before you know it. You've become one giant vagina. Theres no reversal once that happens.

Oh no not this vid. Makes me so depressed. Fuck all you twisted, sadistic freaks. Anyway, meat is nutritious for the human body, i eat meat. I just hate how they house and slowly slaughter these creatures. Let them live out their lives in free range and when the time comes, nailgun to brain(seems instant?..). Factory farming is not farming at all. Simply disgusting. Some people need to wake up and think " hey what if we weren't the superior race? Wouldn't that suck huh?"

^i think if you researched "free ranged" you'd find it quite the deceptive term.

TED: lol. truth be told i was once a terror with a bb gun as well!

CPTN: I'm fine with humor and jokes, some people just exceed all limits of civility and healthy communication so... just as in life i believe they should be avoided and ignored. so im just showing the vid and inviting healthy discussion. please feel free to make your point--in 10 words or less (just kidding). just be carefu what you say or i may show up and enslave your relatives!

Legalize and Hedons--i really do not believe eating meat is very healthy in many senses. looking at comparative biology we are built and set up exactly like herbivores. we lack the strong stomach acid to kill all the disease and break it down properly (10 or 20 times weaker than carnivores), and our intestines are like 10 times longer than any carnivore (fermentative rather than the quick in and out). this means we absorb all those toxins that occurs when it putrefies in our systems and tax our immune system...which leads to cancer etc. we also cannot really process animal cholesterol and it clogs us up. i think meet is more of a conditioned taste...and most would not do the killing etc it takes to bring it from cute creature to plate. (animal crackers are strictly prohibited).

if anyone tries it for 2 weeks i bet they will feel a big difference in digestion, and maybe even mind.
