The State of Yahooka

The first graph below indicates YaHookan "non-FAIL" activity over the course of the last decade, and projected into the future. The second graph illustrates the Newb Cycle over the same period. As you can see, we are currently in a deep trough slump (high FAIL ratio). This should correct itself over the next six months, however. Newbism, on the other hand, appears to be on the upswing of the cycle. These two conditions, in conjunction, could lead the lay observer to the false conclusion that YaHooka is circling the bowl. However, this is not the case. This place, if history is any indicator, will be rockin' by New Years.

It's true. A revamping of the decent idea (indexing weed sites) could result in a whole lot more traffic for the site.

I'm sure there are several members who would be willing to help in the design/implementation of an updated front page, myself included.

However, this has been suggested several times before, and the secretive counsel of administrators (read: budhead and testclear) don't seem to be interested.

The main page almost made me not even go further than the first page.

I stumbled upon a recent thread from google, realized that the site wasn't dead and I joined.

I would help in whatever way possible.

how 'bout a design competition of some sort? even for some public kudos, i'm sure we could improve it a little.

If yahooka needs a better front page/index I'd be all for designing it and giving it to the owner to put up, for no reparations or even credit. As long as it has PHP, (D)/HTML, JAVA, and or CSS.
