Damn, just as I moved away from Vegas for college, I log on Yahooka and read this. RIP man.

Matt has always been one of the most sensible, and (people have said this before) down to earth guy on Yahooka. It is sad to see him go like this.

What REALLY gives me chills is that I too had to visit a dead friend at the same Palm Mortuary who died from a OD on oxycotton and alcohol. Now that bring chills down my spine.

Yeah, there was nothing phony about Matt. He was genuine. He was a character. He had a rythym about himself -- the way he spoke & the phrases he used. The dude cracked me up.
I was really looking forward to meeting him on my next trip to Vegas. Now it's going to be a lot further of a journey to see him. Plus I have no clue when THAT flight is scheduled to depart.

Since Matt departed I've been thinking a lot about mortality. I'm wondering why my first reaction to death is fear. I can't tell if its just human nature to fear death or if its our society/enviroment/culture that shapes my thoughts on dying. Either way, when its my time to go I want people to be happy for me.

I'm sad for the loss of Matt in my life and I selfishly wish I had more time with him... but it was just his time to go and damnit, I'm happy for him... He made it to the next level and I can totally picture him trying to tell us how great the after life is... if anything he feels bad for us having to live here while he gets to enjoy the after party....

good bye matt, i know this is meaningless but im sorry i didnt get a chance to respond to your last emails... and now i feel bad about it.

he was a genuinely honest, kind and thoughtful person. i didnt know him very long but i could tell he was just a really great person.

if its any consolation i will never do an opiate again because of matt, its just such a waste to see people go like this...

rest in peace.

Aw man I used to love to read his posts. They were so wild, interesting, and poignant. I am sorry that he is dead.

May everyone reading this take one step towards life. It's all you got.

r.i.p. matt.

im glad i was able to apologize to him for the way i treated him b4 he bounced off the earth.

he also posted @ shroomery for a bit, but they REALLY treated him like shit over there. he found a niche here, as we all do (the ones that stay, anyway). we all have problems, we are all real ppl, and the 'hooka reconizes this.

r.i.p. again, matt. you was a crazy fucker, and you were diffenatly a 'hookan to the core

I wonder if his family want money from Yahooka who they probably consider to be a contributor to his illness and addiction.

On the contrary, after speaking to some of his family members, they are very touched by some of the things said about him on YaHooka. The money donated by the members of YaHooka will be going to Matt's son college fund. His son Mason is 13 years old.

Its a good point highanddry but I don't think his family considers Yahooka a contributor... If anything Yahooka gave Matt life and he loved it here...

Yes, it kept him healthily social. Which he is still appreciating. Everyone just smile, Matt doesn't want us to be sad.
